Strongly recommend this neighborhood gem. Skip the line next door and get a great dinner or delicious brunch. The restaurant uses cool old plates and cups. The Brussel sprouts were dreamy and we had to get more. The dinner is yummy and we are also fans of the brunch food.

Fairsted is truly a one of a kind. It's cozy, friendly with an amazing bar and eclectic selection of wines and it stays open late with inclusive bar food. But it's the dishes that are stunning in construction and taste. Chef Jason Alba is very creative indeed and manages to conjure up what may seem as unlikely combinations of tasts,... More

Fairstead Kitchen is an eclectic little restaurant with excellent food. The decor is funky with mismatched old fashioned China and silver. They have lots of great small plates --- Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mussels (!!! Delish), crispy chicken, beets...for a large plate we enjoyed the Skate. The desserts were amazing -- coconut pie with key lime sauce and the bread pudding... More

I visited Fairsted Kitchen with a friend who had been there before. Steve, co-owner, waited on us and was very friendly and helpful. We had tapas which were all delicious and generous in size. I loved the chickpea snack-so crisp and tasty. The signature drink was fabulous and I never drink bourbon but I would have that again. I intend... More

Dropped by with friends for dinner. The location is very nice. Outdoor seating and plenty of parking. The service was a tad slow, but the folks there are very nice and friendly. Tapas are a bit smaller, but the food are good. A bit pricey. Whiskey smash drink is good. Recommended Smoked Octopus,Black Rice Risotto and Tomahawk Steak.

First the service was a bit slow. The selections a bit odd. The wine list was a mix of one California wine. One from France. The rest mostly Eastern European. Very odd. But the rib eye for two as very good and the closest you could get to a traditional entree. No need to go back, but if it wasn't... More

I dropped in around noon on a Sunday, looking for a quick lunch and a beer. As this is Brookline during the brunch hour, I was worried that it would be mobbed. Found a seat at the bar and chatted with the very friendly barmaid. The bar looks very well stocked, I was looking for beer and pleased with the... More

It's like going to your mates house for dinner, but a mate who can really cook tasty dishes. We were recommended this place by a barkeep in NYC. On arrival Andrew, co owner, greeted us and made us really welcome. We asked him to just give us his favourite dishes and he didn't disappoint. Octopus, baked cauliflower, rack of lamb,... More

With memories of an excellent dinner, we returned to Fairsted Kitchen. The flatbread appetizer was OK, but overpriced. My friends had fish, which they thought OK. I had steak, which though rare was rather dry and very small. Chocolate mouse for dessert was even smaller, about a tablespoon. The room was quite noisey.

Fairsted serves wonderful, original food in a setting designed to feel like a formal dining room at someone's home. The menu changes frequently and features several large main courses to feed 3 or 4 or more. The appetizers are lovely, and one could make a meal of these. And there are individual portions of main courses offered as well. The... More
