Cozy and warm, just like the name

The Mrs. and I were out for a walk one Saturday evening looking for a place to have a nice quiet dinner. Yes, there are a number of freat restaurants in Washington Square. Unfortunately, all, including The Fireplace, were quite crowded. Nevertheless, we decided to give it a try. It must have... read more

This is a very nice restaurant. I have been there with my husband, with friends and with my family. It's always a great choice. The food is fresh, local and organic. The dishes are not over prepared, just the right ingredients cooked just so. I also love the fireplace. Overall, a great place for confortable and tasty lunch or dinner.

I've been coming to the Fireplace for 10 years and I still love it. Happened to stop by today last minute. Food was so good and the place oozes warmth with the fireplace in the bar on a rainy New England day. Recommend something original here. Why have the burger when you can have local seared Cod or short ribs... More

Terrific food, and great selection. You usually have to spend a lot more money to have this kind of eating out experience. Friendly and helpful wait staff, hostess that let us wait for the table we wanted (near the fireplace, of course) and a welcoming atmosphere. Had a nice, neighborhood feel as well, the kind of place you could stop... More

I'll start by saying that the service here was welcoming, friendly and professional, which gave us high hopes for the food. Unfortunately our expectations weren't met. Don't get me wrong, the food was ok, but definitely not worthy of the prices in our opinion. In general, the dishes lacked seasoning snd two were over cooked. The burger (supposedly best of... More

The inside of this restaurant is dim and has calm atmosphere. Hamburgers are good. When I visited here on weekends, more exciting menu existed. Real fireplace is in a restaurant. ハンバーガーは美味しいです。昼でもお店の中は落ち着いた暗い雰囲気。暖炉があります。特筆すべきことはありません。

Washington Square area has many restaurants. Yet, The Fireplace is our favorite. Many Brookline residents are regulars at the Fireplace. At one point the owner considered closing the restaurant but the cry of the Brookline residents was so big that the owner changed his mind. We dine often here and we have never been disappointed. The food is consistently good... More

We were in Boston for our anniversary and wanted a place for brunch. my husband found this place online. I need to eat gluten free. The menu is decent. we had an awesome spot right in front of the fireplace . It was really romantic for our brunch. I would definitely go again.

Consistently good. Great food.Very pleasant staff. No exotic combinations of ingredients. Just consistently delicious unpretentious food, a couple of steps up from what we would cook for ourselves. We also like their support for community organizations
