Last week my wife, daughter and I dined at the Burro Bar in Brookline, MA. The easiest way to describe the food at this no frills restaurant is that it is an elevated take-off on Mexican food. These are not your standard tacos that you see elsewhere. The pork, the shrimp, the fish tacos were all equally good - and they are large. Two to three is an ample meal. The server was extremely polite as well as prompt; he wore plastic gloves and a face mask at all times. Everyone was kept at appropriate social distances. To eat outside you definitely should call for a reservation a few days ahead as this place is no longer a secret! Find a way to get there - you won't be disappointed. As an FYI, this was the second time that we dined there (the first being in early July). Just as good the second time as it was the first.

Their menu is interesting with a big variety of tacos, ( beef pork, octopus, fish and two vegetarian choices), and their duck enchilada was good. The mezcal flights are a big draw. I have found it impossible to get a table without a reservation made a day ahead. The artwork by Raul II adds a lot of atmosphere.

My wife and I frequently dine at the Burro Bar and it has become one of our favorite local spots. The food, margaritas and the service is consistently excellent. The Manager and staff take the COVID rules and cleanliness very seriously. I recommend the guacamole and the mushroom enchiladas. My wife loves the beet taco’s and the pork taco with a fried egg. We applaud Juan and his team as we always leave happy.

Fun atmosphere, great cocktails. We had a mix of tacos - all of which I found only so-so. I was missing the punch of flavor and a bit of heat. The guacamole and homemade chips were the star of the meal. The fried Brussels sprouts were dried out.
Still, I'd go again for the vibe.

I recently visited some friends in Boston and we went to this amazing place. They had an unlimited tapas brunch for a great price. We were able to sample different items in the menu- all which were very tasty and fresh. The servers had great customer service and the bathrooms were clean! It's on my list to again when I return.

This is a fun and noisy bar with excellent food, strong drinks and fine service. The menu is varied and includes fine vegetarian options. Prices are reasonable too.
We ate on the patio, and it was very pleasant.

We have been to the Burro Bar a number of times. We often sit at the bar for lunch or dinner. They make some excellent regular and spicy margaritas. The numerous taco choices are great and very tasty. I also enjoy the enchiladas and fish dishes. The restaurant is comfortable, clean and modern with great outdoor seating. Have tried to walk in and it always seems busy, so call ahead for reservations

Overall, we had a good experience. Food and drinks were good and our server was nice. We were there for our friend’s birthday dinner. Service was slow, but I didn’t mind since we were there for her birthday and were happy to have a leisurely dinner. Our reservation was for 7:00. At 9:00, after we had finished eating but still had some drinks left and hadn’t ordered dessert, our server told us the next reservation had arrived and we had to go. I asked if there was a time limit, and he said there was a 90 minute one. I was disappointed because we never got a chance to order dessert nor did we know there was a time limit. I let the server know, and he said he’d look into it. When he came back with our cards, he said nothing, so we started to walk out.
On the way out, I asked the hostess if there was a time limit and she said she was not sure. Then, the manager came over to talk to her, so I mentioned the issue to him. He said he told the server to let us know we could have dessert at the bar. I let him know we were never told that then said we also didn’t know about the time limit. He was smiley, but seemed to just be trying to appease me without being accommodating or honest. He also mentioned it was one of their busiest nights.
I understand that mistakes happen and reservations can get placed without the right timing. But, stand up restaurants try to make up for these mistakes in some way instead of being deceiving to their customers. The restaurant did have have every seat taken, but there was no indication of people waiting in large numbers anywhere. I just felt like I was being lied to a bit for a mistake that could have been taken care of in a more respectful and accommodating manner.

Family of five adult cousins getting together. Nice atmosphere in Mandarin Hotel. Excellent server. Delicious food. For the rather high price, I would like a tablecloth, but I would return anyway.

Wish this was in my neighborhood in NJ. My good childhood friend had taken me to this restaurant when I was here for a brief visit - wedding shopping for my niece in Boston. So glad we came here, close to Boston, about 15 minutes, but there is parking! It was a very hot day but chosen to sit outside, it was pretty comfortable under the awning with refreshing Rose and draft beer. We pretty much had the place to ourselves since it was early, but the place did fill up by the time we left. We had shared the guacamole and ordered two different tacos each. I had the pork carnitas and the roasted squash taco. Both had a delicious mix of flavors. I wish I was a bigger eater, would loved to have try a few more. Great friendly and attentive service. Great place for food and conversation.

My wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday night, we did have to wait about 30 mins for a table, but luckily, we were able to sit outside on their patio.
Our server was great and very attentive. We had some questions about the menu and she easily answered them or offered to find out for us.
I ended up ordering the Empanada, which was good! It is more of an appetizer, but worked as a meal. The chipotle mayo they serve with it had a nice kick to it.
We also ordered the house margarita as well as the cucumber margarita and enjoyed them! They also provide chips and salsa (first round it complimentary).
If you are in the area, stop by Burro Bar!

Live in Washington Square area where I am spoiled with good options to go out and eat. Been two Burro Bar a few times past 10 months.. love it! Atmosphere and drinks/food very good. Nachos are the best around. Only con are the individual tapas like tacos tad pricey for what you get.. very good but overpriced.

Got together with friends for a de-lici-ous brunch at Burro Bar. Definitely glad to have a reservation, as it was PACKED. Fun cocktails, cozy space, and I will be eager to see the patio open this summer. Highly recommend for fun group gathering.

Dear Mom and Dad,
My fiancé and I went to Burro Bar for a celebration and were wow’d by the atmosphere, service and food/margs. We split the empanadas to start and I had the Short Rib Double Down tacos (10/10) and she had the carnitas (8/10). House margies were perfect - great balance and not too sweet. Vibe is intimate (tables are close together so it’s intimate) and fun and authentic.”
