I typically give restaurants separate ratings for food, service, and ambience, then average the scores. The Grant House is a bit tough, because the ambience--wonderful parklike setting--leads to high expectations for food and service. But alas, service was just okay, though friendly enough. And likewise the food was uninspired. But you can sit on the porch if the weather's nice... More

The house is a lovely restored officer's house on Officers Row of Fort Vancouver that General Grant never lived in, but according to history visited quite often as an officer. We enjoyed the capresse stack, quinquoa salad and tomato basil soup to start. My cheese hating son was limited to the salmon or hamburger entrees as there seemed to be... More

My wife and I like to eat there for special occasions and the occasional date. If you like history or old architecture, it is really fantastic to see and I wish I had that house. The food is all good. Everything we've eaten there I'd rate good to excellent. The roasted glazed brussels sprouts are a little sweet and less... More

It's worth checking out at least once. The ambiance is what makes this place so cool. Decent Happy hour and nice outdoor seating.

My husband and I went to The Grant House for dinner with friends. It was a very nice evening and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was nice but we were distracted by a couple nearby who were having a very intimate dinner. The food was expensive and I felt like we were intruding on their time together.

The house is beautiful and all of the history there is incredibly fascinating. We were there for lunch and I did not find the food particularly memorable or interesting. We had the bread pudding too and that was very disappointing for me. Plus the service was really not up to par for the cost in my opinion. It wasn't bad,... More

We have been to the Grant House several times for lunch and it has been great. We came for dinner tonight and were not disappointed! Food was wonderful and service was fantastic as usual. If you are in Vancouver, WA, make sure you visit the Grant House!

We ate here while we toured Fort Vancouver, partly because we wanted to see the inside of the house. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food we received, but it was on the pricey side for sure. The service was VERY slow though... We were here for lunch, and I would say it's worth the experience if... More

If you are visiting Fort Vancouver the Grant House is right there and so if you are looking for convienance, this is a good spot. The building is lovely. However, right from the hostess's unfriendly manner, things went downhill. The service wasn't great but don't know if this was the server or the kitchen. We were there for lunch and... More

This was my first experience at the Grant House. It will not be the last! My Uncle is in a wheelchair and going through painful treatments for a serious medical condition. They handled us with such grace and care so we could have a long overdue mini family reunion. We had lunch on a beautiful Saturday sitting outside. The food... More
