I arrived on foot to get a table, only to see the place was packed. I later found out they had outside seating that was empty. So I decided to place an order, and the gentleman at the desk told me I had to order online through their website. This was an extreme pain in the neck because it took forever for the page to load, and for me to actually place the order. This took close to 20 minutes, even though I was 10 feet from their front door. When ordering a Ramen dish, the description does not tell you what already comes in the soup, so "everything" has to be added, at an additional cost. So when I "built" my own Ramen, I usually get a traditional bowl, and I don't add too many things to it. My soup base (Pork Curry Tonkotsu) was $10, and by adding seaweed, mushrooms, pork and 1 egg, this cost me an additional $7.
My broth was also supposed to be medium spicy, but it was not spicy at all, and the broth itself was not as amazing as I expected it to be.
The fried octopus legs and gyoza were pretty good.
The only time I spent this much money on a bowl of Ramen was at Morimoto's Restaurant.

I had reservations last night for a party of 10 for my birthday, and as usual, this place was spot on! I actually set the reservation up by hitting the "chat with business" button in Google Maps because I know this place is always so busy I would've felt bad to call. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and I feel like we barely got our food orders in before things started getting delivered to the table!
Since it was an occasion we all ended up ordering a bunch of drinks, and with so many people I didn't realize the selection this place has despite not having a full bar. Despite not generally being a fan of pineapple, I discovered I do like the pineapple cold sake that they have! They're also one of the few places that carries Sapporo Black, a dark Japanese beer that's practically a meal in a can.
In my opinion, the best things to try on the menu are the tonkatsu curry ramen (pork broth base with Japanese curry, it's incredibly savory and not spicy), the Kenji's w/Kim Chi (the Kim Chi has some kick, but it's not overly spicy unless you ask for it to be hotter), and the Couv. Put pork belly and avocado on everything, you won't regret it! As to non-ramen favorites, the pork bulgogi plate, and on the appetizer menu I always go for the chicken karaage and the potato pancakes.

Wow! Found this place after flying into Portland o e evening on our way to hotel. Got takeout and brought it to the room. My wife couldn’t stop raving about how good the Ramen was. She had Kim chi, and I had the garlic onion- both were fantastic and what a nice hot meal on a cold wet night after a long day.

We got treated very poorly. I won't be back. The waitress talked behind our backs. They never said they charge extra for items. I hadn't even finished my food when my bowl was scooped up from underneath me without even asking. I had just put my drink down and they came up and said we need to leave due to them needing a table. When they were not full. Very rude customer service. Entitled people working there with no respect for customers.

I went with my best friend and the food was fabulous! I ordered the Chicken Katsu and she ordered a ramen bowl and it was amazing. I was to chicken to order the Takoyaki since I've never has octopus before. Fast service, friendly staff members and great tasting food. I will be returning again, as this was the best Japanese food I've had in a while. Thank you for letting me enjoy myself!

We found this place and glad we decided to stop and give it a try. My wife had The Couve and I had the Miso Ramen. Both were good but a little salty. The atmosphere was great and service top notch. I would recommend.

The management is horrible and cannot handle issues well. Instead of trying to understand the issue he became defensive. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS PLACE AGAIN. Be careful people of color unless you want to be treated differently.

The ramen here is legit. I’ve had ramen in Japan and this one is just as good. A little on the pricy side what place is not. The gyoza is also good for an appetizer. Give this place a try.

Love this tasty little hideaway in Vancouver where crispy chicken katsu and savory tonkotsu ramen vie for attention! Even the takeaway items were generous and delicious. I appreciated the free Kenji Ramen stickers which I affixed onto my grandson Kenji’s Little Tykes car, zoom zoom!
Lovely service and a clean, appetizing space too with lots of parking.

Ordered the ramen chicken. Was surprised that I had to order the protein as an extra. Never saw that before. Place was noisy and crowded. Waitress couldn't get us off the table fast enough. Wife had octopus balls. We like octopus. These tasted and smelled very strange. She couldn't finish them. My ramen was mostly salt. Food and ambience did not justify the price.

We asked what was good and was told the octopus balls were, she lied. They stunk so bad we could still smell them after we had had her take them back 30 minutes earlier. The ramen was okay but nothing special!!

We were just not impressed with the food enough to justify the prices they are charging. We ordered Kenji's Ramen that doesn't come with your choice of protein which is actually an add-on for an additional $2.50! That brings it to $12.50. The broth was really good, but noodles were so so. We also had the Bulgogi Rice Bowl on salad instead of rice for $14 which was way over priced for the size of the bowl and the little bit of shredded salad with a few spinach leaves added in. As another reviewer noted the minimum suggested tip on their check machine is 16% not 15% like everywhere else. It does offer the customize your tip option, but I couldn't figure it out so just did 16%. We won't be going back since there are too many better options in the area where you can get better quality & value. The service was good, but that was about it.

Having been to Japan x2 in the past 3 years, we really enjoyed the ramen. For those who may not have had REAL ramen (not Top Ramen), it is a phenomenal meal in a bowl. And Kenji's got a pretty good version!
Would just say that the price seems a bit high by the time you add on a few things, the pork was "sawdusty," and dabizaya is right--there's no option for a custom tip. Otherwise, everything was great!

If you are tired of plain teriyaki and want to give your taste buds an explosion of flavor this Korean place is it! Unbelievable Ramen with many different flavors of broth, add ons and noodle options {even gluen free or kale!}. The poke salmon was soo fresh, we ordered 2x the meat so my son could have some salmon as well. Best poke we have ever had. Lots of veggies with a delicious garlic ponzu sauce. We had to try the Kimchi Fried Rice absolutely to die for! Comes with 2 sunnyside up eggs to break over the top. But to bring an even greater tastebud explosion we ordered the spicy pork meal. We ended up putting the spicy pork on top of the Kimchi fried rice and were in heaven. Our 2 teenage boys and 11 yr old daughter fought over the pan-fried goyza. Soo much flavor.
These guys really know what they are doing! Delicious options, fresh selection and fun atmosphere. I have a feeling we will be coming back at least once a month since we are in Vancouver every Sunday. Very friendly servers who really care about this restaurant. Even our kids are Korean food converts!
