Based solely on the fact that the Guinness is served in plastic cups and they have no idea how to do a pour of same. You go to an Irish Pub for one reason. Try a different pub is my recommendation b

Good food, good drinks and great service! Fried pickles were long spears and not pickle chips, just an fyi in case you're expecting pickle chips. I ordered a basket of onion rings as an appetizer and my only complaint was for that whole basket I...received the tiniest cup of ranch to go with it.More

Maybe the good servers that have been positively reviewed here were off duty the evening we came in. There was one bartender/server (female, average height, dark hour) who made it quite clear that you, the customer, were not her priority. We walked into a relatively...empty bar on a week night and the server/bartender was chatting with another employee at the bar. Our table was maybe five feet from her but you would think we were in the parking lot with the attention we got. We finally got her attention and that level of "service" continued. We all got drinks and then ordered the pretzel bites with craft beer cheese. In all fairness we were hoping that McDonoughs could emulate the pretzel/beer cheese we had in Charleston but it didn't happen. It was just okay. For dinner my friends split a wrap and I ordered the French Dip (thinly sliced roast beef). My friends liked their sandwich but I couldn't even finish mine. The roast beef was that shiny pressed "roast" they serve in a grocery store deli. Even the au jus couldn't redeem it. When we tried to get the attention of our server once again the challenge ensued. There were only a few people there that night and after our visit I could understand why.More

After seeing a “4” in online reviews, we ventured to, what we thought was a good ole Irish Pub & Grill. The rating of a 4 had to be for their Karaoke because nothing else there deserves higher than a 2. We were not welcomed...when we came in and basically sat ourselves. The servers were rude, caring more about running out to get their own personal drinks from a nearby shop than taking care of their seated patrons. One of the servers literally tossed an empty boat with 3 sets of plastic utensils on to our table of 6. I had to go to the kitchen to ask for 3 more. When someone in our party asked if they could make a mixed drink, she was answered with "this is a dive bar hunny". A simple "sorry, we don't make those" would have sufficed. The Shepherd’s Pie was dry and tasted as though it was freezer burned and, the rest of the food was subpar. If you’re looking for good food, drinks and atmosphere…pass on this “dive”.More

This is obviously a local hangout. As out-of-towners, we felt completely out of place and unwelcomed. They can't make many mixed drinks, but OK if you like beer. Atmosphere was pretty blah. We decided not to stay for food, but the menu was extensive.

This place was filthy, smelled horribly. The clientele were obviously unsettled when we walked in. I got the feeling that if you weren’t a regular, you really weren’t welcome. We ordered one beer and 3 mixed drinks. They were horrible. The only thing that was...good was the beer. There was some thing floating in one of the drinks. I don’t know what it was but it was pink and gooey. Just a disgusting experience overall. Won’t go back, I don’t recommend anybody going.More

We stopped in here without a plan as we were walking and decided we wanted lunch. It was just a few feet from one of the Old Savannah tour stops that we had gotten off at. They have a typical pub-bar feel, we ate at...the bar as the dining room wasn't open yet. They had local brew beers that we liked, a plate of "'appetizer" black-and-blue chips was large enough to have been lunch for 2 in itself, but I also had a good but typical po-boy sandwich.More

My friend and I came here for New Year’s Eve. We couldn’t believe that there were only two bartenders (0 servers) for the entire place. Not sure if they were that short staffed or what but it was ridiculous. We decided to splurge and order...the $14.00 egg roll appetizer. When it came out we couldn’t believe that it consisted of only 2 egg rolls! Needless to say, after waiting forever for one drink, getting overpriced egg rolls and sitting under a vent that reeked of vomit, we decided to take our business elsewhere.More

While knowing Savannah GA is supposed to be somewhat known for its Irish one might expect a few good Irish pubs in town. This would not be a good example of what you would expect. They did offer some beers on tap and Guinness was...one of them. I was shocked to see them pour it into just a plastic cup! Not even a proper pour. The bartender was very engaging and friendly (so a big plus there!) Overall I have to say I was not impressed, it was just a so-so experience.More

This is a place where you want to go if you want a good happy hour deal down town. I wouldn't come here for food, and I wouldn't consider it an Irish bar, at least not an Irish bar that you'd find in Ireland. That...all being said, we had a blast at their happy hour and if you want some cheap drinks/shots, then you can come here and get your drink on.More

Place was practically empty at 12:30pm on Saturday before 4th of July though street parking was hard to find— wonder where everyone else was eating? Ordered fish and chips with hush puppies which was reccomended by waitress. Food Arrived very quickly. One large strip of...swai on a huge bed of fries came with a few hushpuppies— more fries than I could eat. I declined the slaw. The hushpuppies were light and cooked to perfection such that I ordered 3 more that they gave me at no charge. Due to the light crowd, I was well-attended by the 2 wait staff.More

Stopped in for some Guinness the day before St. Patrick's Day. Crowded but that was to be expected. Enjoyed a cool one (or too). Went back later and got a pizza. Bought a t-shirt for my sister-in-law who is a McDonough. Good time.

I believe that young children and young adults can sit at the tables, not at the bar. The other side of the building houses a restaurant -Billy's that would be better for younger people than the bar area
