Our neighbors recommended this place. Little did we know it would be this hidden treasure tucked behind an dentist office!
Gourmet flavors, tropical setting on the patio complete with rain. We had the watermelon salad with crispy oysters and salmon curry. We did not leave...a morsel on any plate! Fabulous! Highly recommend.More
We were staying on Tybee Island for a week so we could get some beach time and also explore Savannah. Of course dining out was to be a great part of our week. We tried highly rated restaurants on both Tybee and in Savannah, but...it wasn't until we discovered Lili's that we were truly impressed. It hadn't popped up in any of my searches for Savannah or Tybee but then I looked at a map and searched for restaurants in Wilmington Island and found Lili's. We made dinner reservations for a Friday and were so impressed that we came back for brunch on Sunday. Both were exceptional experiences. The location is rather nondescript in a commercial shopping area between two banks with the entrance at the side of the building. The decor inside is also very plain with a few tables and a bar - kind of a neighborhood place - but don't let that fool you. The service and the food are exceptional. To start we shared the Crispy Wrapped Brie, which was served with accompaniments of salami, pickled okra, olives, jam, blue berries, nuts and honey - and we also shared the Potato Gnocchi with smoked salmon, spinach pesto, green peas, crispy bacon and saved Asiago cheese. (as I write these descriptions I can vividly see and remember the taste of each one - wonderful). For entrees, we had the Wild Salmon, Three Cheese Ravioli, and Tandoori Lamb Half Rack. Each dish was exceptional, creative, with marvelous flavors. The chef was born in Pakistan and trained in France. The flavor of various parts of Asia subtly influenced many of the dishes. If you want views of the water, Tybee is fine. If you want a standard upscale meal in an historic home, Savannah is fine. But if what you want is exceptional food, this is the place to try. It is just ten minutes from Tybee or 20 minutes from the historic district of Savannah. On our next visit I know we will try some different places in Savannah and on Tybee - but also know this is the one place we will visit most often, for breakfast, lunch or dinner.More
Lili’s is not downtown but only about 20 min from there. Well worth the drive to Wilmington Island.
We took an out of town guest there. First had a really nice house salad with a light lemon vinaigrette. Then, the scallops. They were large, perfectly...seared, ample portion. Served over what tasted like homemade pasta with spinach, tomatoes & a sauce that our guest threatened to drink! We all said they were the best we’ve ever had.
Quiet enough for fun conversation. Servers were knowledgeable, attentive, & nice.
Offered to bring more bread so there wouldn’t be a scene with him drinking sauce. 😀. Go there.More
It’s a southern meets the Mediterranean fusion restaurant. Some nice things, but the kitchen seems to move like blackstrap molasses. The Mediterranean menu also includes things lke hush puppies and sweet tea. But the cheeseburger should be avoided.
We have been to Lili’s on several occasions and have never been disappointed! We love the cozy atmosphere and attention to detail and our food has always been prepared and cooked to perfection. We travel often and this restaurant ranks as one of our all...time favorites! A true hidden gem.More
We'd been to Lili's several years ago with friends and enjoyed it. Decided to give it another try. Glad we did. Got our drink orders in promptly and after hearing the specials for the night, decided to go with menu items. Started with the crab...fritters, which we shared. Delicious and pretty filling. For entrees, she went with the scallops and raved about them. I opted for the ribeye, which was cooked exactly as ordered and was very flavorful with the herb butter addition. Including two glasses of chardonnay, one of tempranillo and my usual bourbon old fashioned (all very good), our check came to $112, plus tip. A couple of other observations. This is a small, local place, but it was a refreshing change to actually have a conversation without shouting across the table to be heard. Secondly, our server, Cyndy, was absolutely delightful and made the dining experience much more enjoyable. Third, the chef and owner, Mir Ali, was kind enough to visit with us at our table, as he did at other tables. A charming, interesting guy who learned his trade in France and practiced it locally on Tybee at the old Georges and at the North Beach Grille. And he sent us on our way with a complimentary dessert when we told him we were too full from dinner to order one. Given our experience here and at JThomas, I'm sure we'll be making more trips down 80 to Wilmington Island.More
Excellent food, great staff & service, reasonable prices. What’s not to love! The chef came out and introduced himself to each table. Even sent us home with a delicious complimentary dessert. Don’t miss this gem of a restaurant.
