Loved the architecture and decor. Our server shared with us some history... At one point, it was an apothecary, a SCAD library, and now a tea room. It also has original Louis Comfort Tiffany pieces, along with pieces inspired by his stained glass. My friend ordered lunch but I went for Afternoon Tea and loved EVERYTHING.

The Gryphon was a perfect location to have a high tea. The unique building which was once a pharmacy was renovated and converted into a restaurant by local SCAD students. We loved how we were surrounded by old literature and books as we sipped our tea. When I return to Savannah, I will definitely plan to return to this charming... More

We stopped in here for lunch based on great reviews. We enjoyed our lunch, but did not think it lived up to the reviews. My wife and I both had Cobb salads. We thought they were okay, but nothing to write home about. We ordered ours with chicken and it was not cooked well. Very rubbery and hard to cut/eat.... More

The prices here are definitely on the higher side, especially for lunch, but the meal and the atmosphere are well worth it. I ordered the chicken breast, chai tea, and Earl Grey crème brûlée, and they were all delicious. My server, Jessica, was so sweet and accommodating. She was one of the best waitresses I've had. The atmosphere is really... More

On my own for lunch on a Friday summer vacation, I read great reviews and stopped in after noon. Had a 10 minute wait that allowed me to view this gorgeous old room. Feels like something in Hogwarts. Old, dark, walls a lined with books by color, gryphons hidden about. Lovely. Small menu but lots of options. Superb SCAD staff.... More

I had a very short time to eat lunch. A local recommended the Gryphon. It was superb--I had she-crab soup. Delicious, a large bowl, and a creative iced-tea. Service a tad slow--I had to ask for a soup spoon and waited for it. Overall, one of the three best meals I ate in Savannah!

I'll start by saying I was PUMPED to eat lunch at Gryphon Tea Room because I've always wanted to do one of those fancy afternoon tea deals with the teapot and the cucumber sandwiches (I'll admit I'm a little dorky!)! However, after walking around town with Capturing Savannah for over three hours, I just couldn't drink hot tea. Our sweet... More
