You must eat here while in Savannah! I had the cherry green tea which was great. They also have great tea sandwiches, scones, and great desserts. Very cute place!

We weren't able to make it back for lunch to Gryphon. But we really enjoyed seeing the building and appreciate what the students at SCAD has done to make it a beautiful place for high tea, or lunch. We will make sure we stop here on our next visit to Savannah.

The tall, historic Masonic structure with its ornate frieze intrigues you as you cross Madison Square. The open, wood grain door on the corner beckons as you enter. Inside, you see wooden tables and chairs adorned with white table cloths arranged within a large room walled with wooden frame & glass bookshelves filled with antique books. And in the corner... It is worth a visit to this tea room just to see the space! But the tea, the menu and the service is also fabulous. Try the banana bread pudding (if not getting full afternoon tea.) It is oh so good! I came here with my high school senior who has been accepted to SCAD. We're not sure if she... More

We had lunch on Christmas Eve day. Delicious and inventive. And surprisingly well priced for the quality and type of food. The staff were so helpful, without being solicitous. We look forward to our next meal there. And you can browse the bookshelves and find very interesting books.

We wanted to take a late afternoon break from our Savannah strolling on a rainy afternoon. We stopped in for tea and coffee, but decided to split a sandwich to tide us over until dinner. The setting is amazing, a former apothecary (and before that masonic temple). Our food was excellent, and the setting was just wonderful, a real gem!

Located in an old Pharmacy this restaurant is primarily a Tea Room , in my opinion, it is not a place for lunch, we order a salmon, I guess a BLT which was adequate , however my wife ordered the Pimento Cheese sandwich which came with smear of the cheese spread and at $13.50 each , not worth the stop... We stopped by for a little late lunch. Our waitress gave us the history in addition to a delicious gumbo and a salad. The menu is creative and I would definitely go back.

Knowing this tearoom is owned and operated by SCAD, we had high expectations and we were not disappointed. The building has been beautifully restored, the food is fantastic and the waitstaff was excellent.

We had lunch here on a weekday. The dining space is architecturally beautiful. The waitstaff, who seemed as if they were all students at SCAD, were all friendly. I had the Asian marinate salmon, which was perfectly cooked. The side ingredients were fresh and their flavors distinct. Chris had the fig, prosciutto and goat cheese sandwich, we he reported was excellent.... More
