Well worth the wait. After a grand day strolling the streets of Savannah and hearing about the 103 year old ice cream shop, we just had to try it. The ice cream was definitely worth the wait. A must stop while in Savannah.

Good ice cream and excellent place to cool off from the heat (Savannah was a scorcher on Aug 2) I loved the ice cream, the portions are generous and the staff is nice. Nice and clean seating area and restroom. Beware of the long lines....I went at night the first time and the line almost reached the corner! So, I went back next day around 11-12 noon, and we were able to do the line inside. it was a good 15-minute wait before we were served.More

If you have a Girl Scoit troop visiting the area, this is a must stop. They have an entire section of their website devoted to making box lunches for troops. Because of the popularity, they will sell out. We booked our lunches back in March...for our trip in August. We received confirmation of our order, and closer to the time, another confirmation. Because we ordered in March, we were a little worried we would have no idea who ordered what, but they had each girl's name on their bag along with their drinks, that were packed separately to keep cold. We did the half sandwich option, and no one in our group of 9 was left hungry. We decided to wait in line at the time to get our scoop that comes with the box lunch, and I'm glad we did. It was about 1PM and we waited about 30 minutes, which is nothing for this place. Our lunches came with a coupon for a scoop, and some in our group had plans to get something bigger, but when they saw the size of one scoop, they quickly changed their minds! The ice cream was delicious. I got Lemon custard, and it was not at all sour. Probably everyone's most favorite in our group was the mint chocolate chip. It's amazing! If you don't want to wait in line....go through the exit and buy a pint from the freezer!More

I love ice cream, so I was happy to try Leopolds for the first time. I didn't time my visit correctly, so when I arrived, there was a bit of a line. I stood in it for a few minutes and almost debated leaving, but...I'm glad that I didn't. The line ended up moving pretty quickly, and I was able to order Birthday Cake ice cream. This ice cream was really good because it had chunks of pound cake mixed within it. Ice cream mix-ins can be 50-50, as sometimes they can be hard or lose flavor, but I could definitely taste the pound cake. Overall, my ice cream was great! I would definitely come back again!More

Everywhere is seemingly understaffed so I can then some slack but it took me 60 mins to wait in line and get served. They could do better asking people to have their order ready and forego tasting before selecting. Come on people! Having said that...their ice cream is awesome! And a bonus is some movie memorabilia including stuff from MI3.More

We waited in line for about 25 minutes, which we were told was not bad. While we waited, staff brought out menus so that by the time we got to the front of the line, we knew exactly what we were going to order. They...also brought a pitcher of water out with cups to give people water while they waited. A very nice touch! The ice cream was delicious. After you get your ice cream you can leave or sit at a table to eat it. They have tables inside and a few outside, as well.More

Went twice during our long weekend. We timed it right so didn’t need to stand in line more than 15 minutes. The ice cream was so smooth, not heavy - just heavenly. Can’t wait to go back.
