We looked forward to going to this restaurant with a great name when visiting Savannah. It was a neat place in a basement that was nicely decorated. The food was however not even fair and the service was terrible. One of us ordered shrimp and grits - seems easy and potentially great. The very talkative waiter came back and told... More

It always worries you when you take someone new to a restaurant, but Alligator Soul delivers again. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The carving board is very good and we added the Gator fritters. They were a nice surprise. The little Hilbo is one of my favorite steaks. My wife has the Elk and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have... We went here for our anniversary on a whim while passing through Savannah. Everything on the menu is fairly expensive, but that seems to be the standard in Savannah for the top ranked eateries. The service was outstanding- very attentive without being intrusive. For the price paid, I would have liked to rave about the food, but I found it... More

Five stars first for the service. Upon arriving, we were escorted to a lovely lounge area to begin "cocktailing" while waiting for our table. We were greeted by our waiter who introduced himself and said he would be our host for the evening, taking our drink order in the lounge and continuing through dinner. He knew the menu inside and... We arrived in Savannah late and were able to reserve a table at Alligator Soul, a Southern themed restaurant just a 5 minute walk from our hotel. What a treat it was. The menu features ingredients that are sourced locally and you can tell immediately. My wife and I both ordered a salad and the greens, served with a cucumber... More

We were looking for a place that used fresh locally sourced produce and we found this at Alligator Soul. It's pricey, but well worth it. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Nothing to complain about. The greens in the salad were so favorable and the special croutons were to salivate over. What a wonderful find.

My wife and I finally got to try this restaurant when we were in Savannah dropping our son off for SCAD. The restaurant is located downstairs. The service was extremely attentive and the waiter and other personnel were extremely friendly. We had a very nice romantic dinner. My wife had the fillet mignon wrapped in bacon and I tried the... Varied menu, excellent service and staff. The owner is "hands on", stopping by tables to make sure everything was OK and it was. We will certainly return for dinner on our next visit to Savannah.

There is so much I want to say but I'll keep it short. This was one of the best experiences overall my husband and I have ever had at a restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the drunken muscles, shrimp and grits, and Elk for our meal. Drinks included a Bloody Mary, the Top bourbon flight, and a... More

Walking downstairs for an evening out in an awesome city led us to an amazing find. Loved the alligator fritters and warm bread. The filet was perfect. My wife had the fish and loved it. My ten month old son loved everything! Yes, we took our little boy out and he even wore his alligator outfit for the occasion. The... More
