My friend and I were staying a few weeks on Tybee and decided we wanted Chinese food. A quick trip up to Chef Wan and we were all set. They were quick, friendly, and it was ready when we arrived. Took it back (thanks Covid) and ate at home. It was delicious.

My wife and I enjoy getting deliveries from here, but also enjoy their lunch specials. The food is great and the price is terrific.

Tried Chef Wan's because of the positive reviews. The place is small and not particularly neat. The staff was not friendly. Despite those negatives, the food was great. The Hot and Sour Soup was excellent. The Hunan Beef was the best I ever had. The food was hot but the best part was how tender the meat was. Great lunch; will be returning.

Egg drop soup was good. Eggroll was very small. Steamed dumplings... well... practically inedible they were disgusting they couldn't even fully remove all the sausage casings when preparing the dumpling mix how lazy do you have to be? The inner mixture of the dumplings should be soft, these were hard, basically they hacked up sausage and wrapped it up. Uhg. They lose another star for the bad customer service. I walked in and literally stood there for almost 5 minutes while the girl at the counter sat on the phone and she wasn't even talking to anyone, clearly my bag was ready all she had to do was hand it me and couldn't be bothered.

Took take out, threw it away. Garbage. Didn’t smell right. I happened to check health department inspection report. Got a U unsatisfactory rating. Previous two inspections C rating. In my opinion, if you want to take a chance getting sick, then go ahead and eat there. Sadly, I live walking distance from restaurant. And I use the term restaurant loosely.

Oh I love this place. The food is fresh and delicious. I had some Chinese food across the street and had to throw it out it was so bad. The food here is so good and they are always so busy. Once you try their food you will know why. Great food, great service!

Best chinese in the islands. This little restaurant may be small, but it packs a huge menu. My wife and I have been eating here for years, and their quality (and quantity) of food has always been consistently good. My favorite menu item is the curry beef with steamed rice. Perfect blend of beef, onions, green pepper and excellent curry sauce. 2nd favorite is the mushu pork. My wife likes the pepper steak, the jalapeno chicken, and mongolian beef, all with the wonton soup. No matter what you order you will get alot for the buck. Restaurant is conveniently located in the center of Wilmington island. Out of all our experiences we only had one error, and that's when my wife ordered the jalapeno chicken and asked for no mushrooms (because shes allergic to them) and they forgot to take out the mushroom. She called to let them know and they immediate brought her a fresh correct order out to where we were on Tybee. This alone qualifies them for a 5 star. My 5 star rating is based on Food quality Food quantity Food price Customer service Location

Since moving to Savannah from western New York two years ago, we’ve tried to find a decent Chinese restaurant. When Chef Wan was recommended, we were hesitant. We live in midtown so it’s a drive out to Chef Wan. But, it’s worth it!! It’s a casual restaurant that does a lot of takeout. The service is good, the food is excellent, and the price is right. My husband and I have tried the egg rolls, soup, happy family, sesame chicken, pork lo mein and dragon and Phoenix. All are freshly prepared and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

Worst take out I've ever had. Trip Advisor says I have to say more.... but I probably will never return. Cashiers could show some interest in customer relations but they are teenagers.

After reading the reviews on TA we decided to try it out. It is in a small nondescript strip mall off Johnny Mercer Boulevard. We ate in, ordered appetizers, crab ragoon which were excellent as well as the egg roll I ordered. I both ordered off the Chef Specialty portion of the menu. My wife ordered the Seafood Delight which was in a white sauce and I ordered a Kung Pao Combination. The portions are generous and are served in a bowl with your choice of white or fried rice in a separate bowl. My dish was some of the best American Chinese food I have ever had. My wife's dish was good also with one exception, the imitation crab was past its prime which I think another reviewer mentioned. I tasted it and it was like pasty. So you might want to avoid dishes with crab. All total our bill was $38 and change. Tip If you need anything from Dollar General (just before you get to Chef Wang's) stop there first, we went afterwards and on the back of the receipt was a coupon for an egg roll with each entree ordered.

We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We decided to eat in and the service was friendly and fast. I can't say enough about how good the food is. I usually get chicken and broccoli. This dish did not disappoint! My Aunt ordered a beef dish. She said the meat was tender and melt in your mouth. There was plenty of food to take home too. Price was very reasonable. It's located in a tiny strip mall but don't let that stop you, the food is excellent.

Chef Wan is my go-to Chinese take-out on Wilmington Island. Good food, great prices, and friendly staff. My favorite is the house fried rice/chicken wing combo. Lots of food. Great as a quick pick-up after work or a take home for Friday night movies.

It had been along time but thought I would visit. A friendly voice when I called my order in, and my food was ready on time. The portion size was good, tasty and there was leftovers, just what I wanted. It won't be as long next time.

The food is always excellent. This was my first time calling in for home delivery and I will never do that again! I was sick so I called in my order at 6:05 PM. I called to check on my order at 7:03 and was told they had gotten slammed on this Monday night and they were cooking my order at that time?!?!?! My order was delivered at 8:00. Two hours!!!

One of the higher rated ones nearby, but that's not saying a lot. Got there when they opened. They told us to have a seat in the next room, which was recently added according to a sign outside. It was not very clean for being new. They brought out some of those crunchy noodles with sauce. They were stale. The spring rolls were cold in the middle because they were frozen, not fresh. The entrees were pretty good. The only saving grace for this place. The staff wasn't very friendly. Service was pretty slow. Just a weird vibe. Lots of personal chatter while ignoring customers. Most people do takeout it seems. Probably will not go back and just seek out another place in another area of Savannah. It was the closest thing to Tybee we could find.
