We came to Churchills by chance when we were out in savannah one night trying to find a place to eat. We preferred to stay outside and eat but we could not find a place that could accomodate us. (party of 6)
We decided to try Churchills because the menu looked good and they could accomodate us inside, and tables looked pretty well spaced out.
We were seated in a corner booth in a room in the back to the right. There was only one other booth being used when we got in, and two booths being used once we left. The booth are rather high, and they also had dividers that made them very seperate and safe.
We LOVED our waitress Becca (Becca remember the crazy group of 50 year old moms that were somewhat loud!) She took such good care of us. We ordered a multitude of drinks and dinners that night. I got the meatloaf and it was amazing. (We all agreed to order something that we would NOT normally get, and all of us were very happy with our food).
We felt very comfortable eating inside her. Tables and guests were very spaced out.
I thought the food was great. I would definitely come here again.

When I reflect on my recent visit with the family, the words that come to mind is historic building, decent food, decent service and pricey.
Located on Bay street in downtown Savanah, you have to find a parking garage and pay to park before dining. The building is an old historic building with tremendous architecture throughout. The wait staff was nice but certainly not the best service from an establishment of this nature. The roast beef was very tasty while the Yorkshire pudding was very bland and left a lot to be desired. The Fried Chicken breast, Mac n Cheese and French Fries were all very tasty. The ambiance was nice for an early evening meal. I highly suggest you make reservations before going to the restaurant. The average plate with drink will run $25 to $30 per person plus tip and the cost to park in a nearby garage. There are many other places I will plan to visit before returning to this location.

We were excited to come here for an English breakfast. We arrived at 11:00am and checked in, we decided to move from downstairs and eat up on the roof deck.
We were literally the only guests in the restaurant but we knew a group of 10 was coming in behind us.
We ordered juice and two English breakfasts, it literally took 40 minutes to get our food, we asked our server to check twice and she told me there was no baked beans and they were trying to find them, I asked her if they had gone to England to get them.
Anyway, I let her know I would like the manager to give us a discount which he did, 30% but it was such a disappointment. The sausages were far too burned and we asked for ketchup, the server then had to go back to the kitchen to get it. Keep your ketchup upstairs!
We have friends coming to Savannah next weekend, British friends, we wanted to recommend it to them but we can’t.
You also have a temporary tent on the roof deck, it looks like it was temporary 5 years ago. Sort it out and get a permanent roof.
Also, hide away your back of house equipment such as the beverage crates that you can see from the photos.
This was clearly a Sunday morning team with the staff hardly on their best.

When we arrived at Churchill's we were promptly seated. Our waitress was immediately taking our drink orders. It took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was inedible. While we were waiting we overheard the waitress explain to a family that the kitchen was "temporarily closed". Another family left their meal and the father told our waitress that it was the "worst effing meal he ever had". The only shining star was a gentleman called "Shorty". Always attentive and anticipating our wants and needs. Will NEVER return.

We walked into the restaurant for lunch. The hostess really didn't look like she wanted to be there - wasn't smiling or engaging. She reminded me of a surly teenager who's parents have asked her to do chores. Other customers who came in at the same time were also commenting. The waitress (Morgan) was friendly enough when we saw her. The food took forever. At least 5 times during the meal we tried to catch her attention to order more but she never looked our way or came over to ask if we needed anything. I had a glass of wine and water and completely ran out of beverages. She didn't notice. I had to flag her down to ask for more. My meal was also missing the veggies. My husband's pie was so bland he had to soak it in pepper to be tasty (he almost sent it back). There was just nothing very good about the meal - hostess, service, food quality or price. I get this place is a tourist trap but expected more. They are getting 2 stars because it was adequate but nothing good or great.

All employees seemed frazzled, they may have been short staffed and that may explain our experience. Tables were not being cleaned, took forever to get our food, part of the food came out cold, the rest came out blazing hot. When we sent cold food back to be warmed, it cane back inedible. Just an overall bad experience.

After watching British comedy shows, we thought it would be cool to have dinner at Churchill's. We could not have been more disappointed. Very slow and inattentive service. Water glasses not refilled, many menu items 86'd, wedge salad that was abysmal, filet that was well done instead of the medium we ordered, rowdy drunk college students at the next table dropping glasses, yelling f-bombs, with management not seeming to care, and finally having to wait too long to get our check for this dreadful dinner. We do not recommend! Savannah has so many better choices. We'll not make this mistake again. Go elsewhere!

Unlike many, I love English food. So, when I saw Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding on the menu posted outside this Bay Street restaurant, I was saying, "Yes Please!"
Reasonably priced and with attentive service, I can recommend this themed restaurant/pub whole heartedly. The fish and chips were far above the norm and the aforementioned prime rib was ample and delicious, with generous side dishes. Coupled with a Guiness (20 oz) pint, I was a happy camper.
The atmosphere was definitely LONDON and Winston Churchill, hardly surprising. The booths were comfortable, ambient noise level was low, even though a live band played in the next room (wish I caught their name - they were great) and the pictures of London and the Prime Minister were engaging.
Recommended.

Very disappointing-could not believe we were served water and my $12 drink in plastic cups! Waitress was super friendly but the food was definitely not super. Onion Ring appetizer was the size of a side but definitely not an adequate appetizer portion. The roast beef was very tough and fatty - was obviously not “roasted” properly. Yorkshire pudding was cold and not authentic. Husband enjoyed his crabcake sandwich. Use of plastic cups could not have been Covid related as it was our 3rd day in Savannah and this was the only place we experienced this.

Our first visit to Savannah and our hotel concierge at the Hampton Inn recommended Churchill’s for dinner.
The hostess (red hair) was not very friendly and seated us at large corner booth as we did not want to sit in bar area.
We sat at our table several minutes and could hear a lengthy conversation a waitress was having with the table next to ours about her career choice and not sure if this is what she wants to do etc etc. Finally I leaned over and asked if she was our waitress and she said yes. She was a heavy set blond woman as I cannot remember her name. She brought us water and then order our drinks and food. The crab cakes came and we finished them and still no drinks. We inquired about drinks and waitress said only one bartender and back up due to roof top. All we had was glass of wine and a beer. The main meal took forever. We were not offered bread and when the meal came, I did not have a salad. I had the pot pie and waitress said she would get salad and it looked like it was thrown on the plate. Food was just ok and not worth the money.
The hostess was wiping tables with same dirty dishcloth on every table and back of booth very dusty. It was so disappointing to have such a negative experience on our first night in Savannah.

My wife and I had eaten at many of the riverside restaurants when we went to Churchill's. It was quiet, friendly, efficient, and very tasty. In fact, it was the best meal we had while in Savannah. We did all the seafood joints and they were over-priced, crowded, and noisy and the food was so-so. Churchill's was the opposite. I highly recommend it. And the staff is very friendly!

Took my family there for dinner as everywhere else we tried was booked solid. Makes sense now why they had availability.
Mashed potatoes were instant, the fried chicken was one tiny chicken thigh (with bone in), the Mac and cheese was dry and the chicken pot pie tasted like it came out of a can.
The only redeeming quality was the service, our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

On a Saturday night, my husband & I visited Churchill's Pub. We had an 8pm reservation and were seated promptly... albeit in the less cozy area; a big room with many tables and near to the front window. A great band was playing and the music was enjoyable. It took awhile before we were greeted and our order was taken for drinks... longer than normal for certain. Our waitress was friendly and we ordered appetizers & drinks which came fairly quick all in all. My cocktail, 'In the Garden of Good' was very tasty, however our triple fare appetizer was not worthy of any remarkable mention. Our dinners were shrimp & chips and a cottage pie. Both decent enough. I think we were most disappointed by the lack of atmosphere for a pub setting. It just felt cold and commercial. I even inquired as to whether we could be moved, however nothing was supposedly available despite looking as though it was. Although I wouldn't steer you away from this spot, it just left us feeling like it was really nothing special. A little disappointing given it was our first restaurant visit in the city.

Tasteful facility with excellent service. Food was tasty. The fresh collards were not cooked to mush and had a good flavor. The pan fried Brussel sprouts just didn't do much for me, seemed tough. The flounder was good sized and fried just right. The pork chop had a good taste and was moist. The pimento cheese croquettes were an excellent appetizer and the sweet tea was good without being overly sweet.
