Tondee's Tavern is located in haunted and very historic building in downtown Savannah. Origionally built in the 1850's as the bank for the central rail road of Geogia and later occupied by General Shermans forces on their historic march to the sea.Tondee's is known for their award winning fall of the bone Baby Back Ribs, that some travelers have discribed as "the best in the world." Also offered daily is local seafood and hand cut steaks that are made with Savannahs own local flavor. Tondee's is locally owned and also boast "Savannah's best Hamburger" that is again made daily with fresh ingredients. Great lunch specials, family friendly, local fresh daily, Happy hour 4-7 Monday thru Thursday.

Went for a late night bite and a beer. Pizza was excellent. Seemed to be mostly locals when I went but i am sure the tourist will fill it being that its located on E Bay street.

I’ve never felt as passionately about anything as I do about Tondee’s Tavern. I thought I didn’t like Shrimp n Grits until I visited this restaurant. The food is INCREDIBLE. The drinks are amazing. The staff is polite, kind, helpful, and funny. This is the...first place I RUN to anytime I visit Savannah. I could not possible recommend it more.More

Had a nice dinner here on our first night in Savannah. We were looking for good food without a long wait and we found it here. Huge Sandwiches. Very good shrimp boil. Glad we found it!

Bad Experience. Took over an hour for mediocre (at best) food. Steak was fatty and overcooked. Pasta was dry. Appetizer took solid 20 min to come out and was a tiny proportion for the cost. One server was nice and apologized, I appreciated that, but...overall, just bad. I would not go back. Ever.More

Easy access, friendly staff, and most importantly....the best potato skins ever! I rarely write reviews about food but my daughter and I are still talking about them. Great location as well. We enjoyed lunch and then a quick walk to River Street to work it...off.More

The service was wonderful. The old building is beautiful, with exposed brick. The red snapper was excellent. The portion sizes are plentiful. Wished we would have saved room for dessert, but sadly, we did not. Next time!
