I’ve never felt as passionately about anything as I do about Tondee’s Tavern. I thought I didn’t like Shrimp n Grits until I visited this restaurant. The food is INCREDIBLE. The drinks are amazing. The staff is polite, kind, helpful, and funny. This is the...first place I RUN to anytime I visit Savannah. I could not possible recommend it more.More
Bad Experience. Took over an hour for mediocre (at best) food. Steak was fatty and overcooked. Pasta was dry. Appetizer took solid 20 min to come out and was a tiny proportion for the cost. One server was nice and apologized, I appreciated that, but...overall, just bad. I would not go back. Ever.More
Easy access, friendly staff, and most importantly....the best potato skins ever! I rarely write reviews about food but my daughter and I are still talking about them. Great location as well. We enjoyed lunch and then a quick walk to River Street to work it...off.More
The service was wonderful. The old building is beautiful, with exposed brick. The red snapper was excellent. The portion sizes are plentiful. Wished we would have saved room for dessert, but sadly, we did not. Next time!

I think the others who have answered this question have missed the fact that this was a Girl Scout Troop. Of course when dining with youngsters, we are not able to enjoy conversation and our 'Slovannah' lifestyle as easily. I can understand how she was unsatisfied with the length of time it took to be served, since there were children involved.
Even though the food was wonderful, the wait can be a turn-off, especially with children.
I agree with her, I think the staff should have done a better job at serving the children. Adults can enjoy another drink, conversation and 'Slovannah' as we call it.
