This was one of the worst experiences with food I’ve ever had while on vacation. All the food wasn’t ready or they had run out of it. The warming table was being repaired as customers placed their orders. Waited on food to be cooked only...for it to be very salty, yams tasted like water, green beans were salty, corn bread was hard and very thin. Not once were we offered a drink or free dessert while we waited for food that should of already been prepared and ready to serve. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. You win some and loose some and this was definitely a loss for my sisters and I!More

My wife and I wanted some good southern food and boy we found it at The Sisters of the South !! The Oxtails were big and delicious. The Smothered pork chops and Turkey wings melt in your mouth!! And the young lady behind the counter...had a great sense of humor. We look forward to another visit . PS . It’s only 8 minutes from most of the Historic district.More

We left downtown Savannah based on ratings. It was worth the drive. We we visiting the South and wanted some Southern fried chicken. The restaurant was PACKED with locals and Uber Eats drivers. We were told they were short staffed, even the cook came out...to help, we waited quite awhile, however, the staff of 3 was kind, friendly, smiled and never faltered their service due to the stress! The food was wonderful and plenty. I was appreciative of the 3 side choice so I could try multiple items. Peach cobbler for dessert, perfect end! Highly recommended.More

Loved our meals!! And the peach cobbler was excellent!!!! The food was reminiscent of my grandmother's heavenly meals and she was raised in Florida.

Crackling crisp and deliciously seasoned chicken, prepared to order and served up juicy and hot. Collards were deeply flavored, the pot liquor from them would revive anyone from their maladies. Macaroni. and cheese was luscious, creamy and chewy with nice crispy bits of topping. Banana...pudding was different from the kind we eat back east-light, fresh, bright tasting maybe from a touch of sour cream, and not too sweet. Gorgeous. I love sour and eat lemons like candy so the lemonade was not tart enough for me. This is deep beautiful food. It will live in my memory until I can return. Long live The Sisters of the New South!!! PS this review was written by a 52 year old man who has been craving, eating and cooking fried chicken since 1972.More

We make a point to stop by Sisters of the New South when we are in Savannah. (Not sure why TripAdvisor calls this "Sisters" rather than "Sisters of the New South." I had trouble finding it on TripAdvisor to review, but the sign in the...photo on TripAdvisor clearly says "Sisters of the New South." TripAdvisor kept bringing up the one in Atlanta.) This trip the food seemed a bit more expensive than I remember it, but still worth the money. If oxtails aren't your thing, they have other southern favorites. Nothing fancy and you get your food in a box, whether you take out or eat in. Delicious and sizable portions for your money. The staff was very courteous.More

We ordered take out through DoorDash. We live in Historic Savannah . The fried chicken dinner came with two cold chicken wings ($9) and the roasted chicken dinner came with two dried up inedible chicken wings ($9). The side of mash potatoes with gravy came...without the gravy! So disappointed as I saw good reviews. My family and I will never order from there again.More

Genuine southern food counter served by very pleasant staff. A welcomed change from overrated and expensive Savannah historical center restaurants. Highly recommended

What a great gem outside of the historic district. Worth the short trip. Food is awesome. Fried chicken, ribs, Turkey, all the fixings.
