An amazing evening with family to celebrate being together (and a birthday) the place is Beautiful!! The staff was amazing (Liv I believe was our waitstaff person) and the sommelier Jamie (I believe) - so warm and made us feel at home. The food was...great and overall a wonderful experience - can't say enough about the place!More

We try to include interesting restaurants in our vacation plans so we can eat way better than at home. Husk was a highlight. We had a selection of oysters; a wonderfully seasoned salad; trout dressed with house-made pancetta, turnip, potato, trout roe and a creamy...sauce; swordfish with pumpkin, peas, and peppers; and sides of red cabbage and white lilly biscuits -- all locally sourced and all yummy - we scraped our plates clean. Our waiter, David, was a pro who got us moving out the door to make an early concert. We will be back when we are next in town.More

Husk Savannah seemed odd due to what I can only assume is a focus on throughput, or a systemic problem in the service. We arrived 7pm to be shown to a table in the 1st floor dining room when we'd booked high top tables. Upon...query we discover these no longer exist (we'd booked four months previous so fair enough but I guess they'd not worried about it over time, or on the evening to explain ahead). The tables around the cocktail bar in the next room looked of a simliar ambience to high top tables (just lower) but weren't offered. While we sat down a waitress was stomping a chair and setting out of the way to adjust a six cover table to five as if her job depended on it. Service talk was polite but verbally automaton (young lady and a quiet apprentice evidently new) but as I'd ponied up on Resy it was a birthday reservation the young lady did kindly remember to say Happy Birthday. However, what took us aback was the arrival of main course literally five minutes after starter's arrival (different server....a young man we'd not seen previously) while I was still finishing mine (my wife didn't partake in a starter). All the other tables seemed to have the main course brought up by a different server, effectively losing the ability of the original waitress who took the order to know when each course arrived and the next could appropriately be served. I have no idea if this is intentional to clear more covers or an unintended consequence of the service structure. Folk should check other reviews for similarities. The mains arrived in what closely resemble dog bowls (wide dishes almost exactly the same as what the family Labrador uses): not a problem, mildly entertaining and we thought maybe we'd misinterpreted "Husk" as wholegrain goodness rather than a shortened form of another northern breed. Upon finishing, my wife's was removed while I was still eating mine and when I asked for the wine list again but subsequently opted to pass on another glass saying I didn't think we'd be there long enough to enjoy it, my glass went immediatley too. My wife and I are 58 and have been lucky enough to dine all over the World in all sorts of surroundings but really found Husk quite weird. We passed on dessert and received the check in seconds. We exited the front door by 7:45pm and asked another diner on our way out if our experience was normal for Savannah, thankfully to be told it was not. In conclusion, the food was excellent, presentation of oysters good, presentation of main courses average, and service was brutally efficient to the point of fatally wounding the experience. We laughed it off and had a lovely walk back south along Whitaker St. to Forsyth Park in the early evening, enjoying the architecture an hour and a half earlier than planned :-)More

I’m a local and had not dined at Husk in a number of years. Why? Not sure but there are so many terrific restaurants in Savannah, that was just the case. Dinner tonite with a couple of business associates was outstanding. The restaurant was very...busy on a Sunday night, which tells you something. Our server (Ilke, pronounced Il-ka) was some of the best professional service I’ve had for years. Really a pro. Our meals were all perfectly presented, extremely tasty and all the right temp. The atmosphere of HUSK is beautiful and I highly recommend it to locals and visitors alike.More

Husk has a great reputation so our dinner group was ready for an exceptional meal. But when we arrived, we were shown to a small room, not the table in the bar, as requested. The staff at Husk are all trained and know how to...please. In the end we were grateful for our quiet room. The bar area, while impressive, was crowded and loud when we left. Might be better for weekend brunch. The restaurant itself is a beautifully restored mansion. Husk sources their vegetables, seafood, etc., from a long list of places. They don’t serve lettuce from a bag. The winter vegetable salad was delightful with a light citrus dressing. The sauce of the trout was authentic South, although the fish filets would have presented better flipped onto their backs. Even the dessert looked distinct. For the most part, they know how to present food and you are not disappointed. But plan on a long evening. While the entrees are delicious, the service is slow. Our waitress was charming but we wished she had taken less time chatting at our table and more time making sure the food came out on time. You could put in an order for a certain wine by name and then see it served to someone else at the table as simply a “white wine,” while you waited another ten minutes. When the waitress still hadn’t cleared our main entrees, another member of the team bringing dessert had to take them back and bus the table. Decaf with cream? The cream never came. But the place is clicking and lives up to its reputation…if you have the time.More

Ambiance gets high marks. Food good but not outstanding. However, where the place fell short is telling. After our first course, the server put our dirty silverware on the table for us to reuse. This is definitely not the sign of a high quality restaurant!...Would not return after such a glaring faux pas.More

Unfortunately, our experience was not great at HUSK. We were here for a business dinner and spent several thousand dollars. The appetizers were very good but the bar seemed to be "out" of a lot of drinks or ingredients. Also, several of us ordered the...swordfish and it was so salty we could not eat it. The real issue was that although the waitress offered us another dish (only one person accepted) no other member of the staff, not the manager or chef came out to apologize. It was as though they could have cared less. The bill was not adjusted and again, that would have been fine had someone come out to apologize or at least explain why the fish was so salty no one could eat it.More

My daughter in law chose this place. She works in food service. She called at 10:30 am and got reservations for 4 at 12:30pm. Nice setting in what once an old house. Service was slow from the get go. Placed our orders, staff came back...and apologized because they were out of an item, manager came and gave us free rolls and a bacon side for free which was not necessary but nice. A few minutes later the app that was unavailable was delivered. Lack of communication? Brunch entrees came out cold, tiny tiny portions, especially considering the price point. Coffee refills offered way too late. Again manager came out, comped our entire bill which was gracious but let’s get the food part right.More

The food was great - smoked pork tenderloin was fork-tender and the biscuits were to die for (I took one home for breakfast the next morning). The cocktail menu was interesting, too. A couple issues with the servers...our main server (male) wore a shirt unbuttoned...halfway down his chest - too much skin too be appropriate in that setting. The appetizers were brought by another server (female) who placed each one in front of the wrong person without asking, ignoring my indications, so we had to rearrange them after she left. Very weird and inconsiderate. Go for the food...More

We have visited several restaurants during our NYE weekend in Savannah which have been great and were excited to eat at Husk. Service was good until we had some constructive feedback on the starter we ordered and attentiveness then took a nosedive. The starter (pimento...cheese with benne crackers) was salty to the point of being inedible, but we still held out hope for the mains. The smoked pork tenderloin was too tough to cut with a steak knife and the accompanying greens and sauce were also too salty to eat (and this southern girl loves salt). My husband’s steak was overcooked and definitely not the quality expected based on the price. I’ve left very positive reviews for the other restaurants we’ve loved here, but please do yourself a favor and make Husk a hard pass.More

Just an overall awful experience. In no universe should it take 2 hours to receive your food. The food once it did arrive was mixed. The seafood dishes were not great - to salty. The beef dish was ok. For the prices the portions and...sides were small. Just not worth it Good for brunch perhaps but avoid the dinner option.More

I was disappointed. In doing my research, I heard good things about the restaurant but it didn't come close to meeting my expectations. There wasn't anything particularly special about the food. The server made a big deal about how hot the skillet was with the...biscuits, but the biscuits were cold. The waiter had a bit of an attitude and didn't seem to like how I ordered my steak (medium) and served me a rare steak which I needed to send back. Not worth the money. (Sigh). Wish I had gone to The Grey.More
