Soft, moist cupcakes with tasty frosting! The Emporium built a reputation for outstanding cupcakes by utilizing Mabel's (the family matriarch) recipes. Dee, the founder, offers a delicious array of flavors: Key Lime, Red Velvet, and Chocolate-Chocolate! The family birthday cake inspired their signature flavor, the "Famous Mabel"--Butter Cream frosting on yellow birthday cake. It honestly acquired all the rave reviews! To... More

Walked by and had to go in and check things out. I decided to try a cupcake and it was delicious. They said they can not make peach ones for too hard to cook with peaches. It was so good I stopped here twice!

Stopped here while on vacation because the store looked like an inviting place for a great cupcake. I am a huge fan of red velvet, so of course that is what I went for. The cupcake was average, nothing really to write home about, and it wasn't all that big. Definitely not worth the $3+.

Visited as part of a culinary tour. Each person in our tour group was given a full-sized red Velvet Cupcake, which was very generous. I was so excited to taste it, it looked beautiful! However, I was not impressed with the taste or texture of the cupcake. Cream cheese icing really had no taste and the icing to cake proportion... More

We bought a dozen cupcakes of an assortment of flavors for our last night in Savannah and our trip home. The cupcakes were amazing the first night and still yummy on night 3.

We called at Mabel's on very hot Saturday afternoon for 2 lattes and 2 "famous in The New York Times" vanilla cupcakes and was quite disappointed. The server seemed fed up and obviously couldn't wait to finish her shift. It was good there wasn't a line waiting because it took forever, she had time to go bake them fresh and... More

The cupcakes are good but they are not THAT good. I must make a disclaimer -- I am a baker. I was expecting larger more elaborate cupcakes, but they normal size and for the most part expected flavors. I do not think they were worth the money or the hype.

We stayed across the street from them and it was nice to have a great place to run and get a sweet roll or a muffin not to mention a breakfast sandwich in the morning or early evening.
