We were staying at the Nemacolin Woodlands and happened to find this place on our way to visit Falling Water. This sweet little cafe has a great menu with soups, sandwiches and salads, including breakfast all day. Food is outstanding and it's a very creative...menu with something for everyone. Their desserts and baked goods are wonderful as well. I also tried a couple of their lattes (try the pumpkin or lavender latte) and they are delicious. They are also a community minded business and when I was recently there, they had a holiday donation board with with "snowflake coupons" for pre-paid meals, drinks and gifts for all kinds of folks ranging from nurses, EMT's, teachers, single moms, veterans, people out of work, etc. So someone in need could come in and take a snowflake off the board and get a complimentary meal or drink. Anyway, just love the food, drinks and homey atmosphere here, not to mention the sweet house cat Bob, who works the room begging for rubs and food morsels from the guests. Great little place and a wonderful alternative to the high priced meals we were paying for at Nemacolin.More

This is off the beaten track! But I am not kidding when I tell you it is worth the drive from anywhere! From farm to table! No preservatives! Quality is their goal and they hit a bullseye! I had a fresh waffle with the best...maple syrup ever! Their sandwiches are so good you can’t wait to go back to try the next one. Open all year around. Indoor and patio. And a nice covered porch! The family that runs it are the nicest people! For dessert it is the jackpot of tasty and sweet treats! Wowza!!More

Nemacolin and Falling Water are very near this fantastic casual eatery housed in a wooden rustic building with tons of plants and herbs all around. We had a fantastic salmon sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, pickled roasted beets and broc cheddar soup ( not gloupy and...heavy with cream or cheese at all). We will return soon!More

Just had lunch ... it was very busy because it was a beautiful day and they have great food, but with everyone waiting in line wearing masks and the front staff masked, we were extremely disappointed to see 2 out of 5 people preparing food...in the open kitchen unmasked!!! (One actually had a political hat on). People please just do the right thing ... unfortunately we won’t be back until COVID is gone. ☹️More

Fresh and yummy. Charming atmosphere. Wide selection of menu choices. The only complaint is how long it takes to get a drink. We were prepared to wait for our lunch (40 minutes for a salad and sand which ) but 15 for bottled water and...lemonade seemed extreme. Regardless it’s the best food in the area so enjoy it !More

Stopped by for lunch before hiking this afternoon and we arrived just in time as a long line formed within 10 minutes of placing our order. Ordered The Bird with a side of cole slaw to share with hubby and it was delicious. The chicken...was tender and the roasted tomatoes perfectly complimented the sandwich. Hubby enjoyed the cole slaw and a side order is more than enough for 2 people. They serve the food on branded boards which was a nice touch and the outdoor seating area is so peaceful, like dining in a secret garden.More

..... after overpriced meals at Nemacolin. Belgian Waffle was fresh and homemade! Eggs and bacon tasted like right off the farm. This place is a local gem. Don’t go if in a hurry, but if you want a relaxing, fresh breakfast, this is the spot!

Outdoor casual seating - food delivered to your table. Enjoyed the blueberry pomegranate smoothie; breakfast burrito; waffle with fresh strawberries; gluten free toast and more. The only disappointment was the potatoes - seemed cold and reheated. Still a nice place to stop for breakfast.

Stumbled onto it and popped in for a coffee after lots of hiking. The outside is covered in flowers and charm. Met by friendly, earnest staff. Had remarkably good salmon sandwiches and coffees. Daydreamed on the back porch on a swing after lunch. Left refreshed...and soothed. What else could you want? Swoon!More

We dropped by Bittersweet for a quick lunch around 1PM or so. The food was very tasty and was fresh. We were able to order inside and then went outside to one of the porch tables to eat. It did take a long time to...get our food as they were quite busy. If you do go, consider going during off times or prepare to spend around an hour at peak times. The salads were a good size. Enjoy!More

Who does? I’ve traveled the country and it’s rare to find an “extensive” menu outside a city (in the north or California/northwest). But you can find a delicious option here and I suspect with thoughtful chefs five feet... More
