We watch foodie shows (wife watches and I enjoy my wife's company). This outfit was touted as 5* cuisine and owned by some of the culinary media denizens. Huge disappoint at a substantial price. Nice ambiance but we would choose modest surroundings, if it offered excellent cuisine. We actually felt cynically cheated as we overpaid for atmosphere and substandard fare.... More

I had heard about Woodberry Kitchen from friends and had seen it listed as one of the best restaurants in the country. How right they were! Our experience was fantastic, from the moment we walked in the door, the staff made us feel welcome and valued. Our waiter, Paul, was extremely knowledgable about the menu and all the locally-sourced items.... More

My friend and I chose Woodberry Kitchen for the "celebration" dinner on our trip together. It's worth specifically requesting a table outside; we didn't want to sit indoors, so enjoyed a drink by the outdoor fireplace while we waited (I liked the peach gose beer, but would skip the cider sampler). The quality of the food was truly excellent: highlights... More

We took my son and daughter in law out to dinner to celebrate their announcement of being pregnant with twins. Great food, great fun and a lot of laughs. It couldn't have gone better.

We took a group of 7 for a birthday dinner for my mother in law. Atmosphere is very fun, the staff was very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the inventiveness of the menu. The food was very good but I thought expensive. I had a shrimp dish and they seemed small. There really was nothing that was outstanding. I have... More

Went here recently with a group from work. This was my first time. The food was very good, but I found the attitude of the staff also a bit hard to take. They specialize in locally sourced ingredients, which is generally good but I do think that they take things a bit too far. Want a lemon twist with a... More

We celebrated our anniversary here. Not only was all if the food delicious, but also a lot was local sourced and highly creative! A special treat is visiting the other various former-factories/mills in this neighborhood to see how they are being restored and recreated.

We were with family celebrating our wedding anniversary when we went here. We had early reservations which is a must. It is in the old mill area and the décor is based on on the old mill. All five meals were excellent. From the Flank Steak, the Crab Cake, The Fried Chicken, the Braised Beef and The Rock Bass; they... More

While I once would have named Woodberry Kitchen one of my favorite spots to dine, our recent visit was a big disappointment. My husband and I visited for brunch and almost couldn't believe how ordinary our experience was. Service by multiple servers was slow and nonchalant, mediocre French-press coffee took forever to come, and the tepid water provided to the... More

We went back to Woodberry Kitchen for dinner and again enjoyed the experience. The chef puts a lot of thought into dishes and flavor combinations. Once again I enjoyed the chicken liver spread. I also got a flat bread that featured crab. It was good, but the fried egg in the middle made that part of the crust soggy. (I... More
