Food quality medium at best. Salad so old that had so many black parts, inedible. Wife expensive for the quality. Would suggest to choose somewhere else

A quaint, clean restaurant near the waterfront. The service was excellent and the crab cakes were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. First time visitor.

We went to Mama's for lunch on a rainy Saturday. It's a good thing we had reservations! Even though the restaurant was packed our service was excellent and the food was superb. This is a small place in Canton just off the waterfront. The neighborhood is working on being trendy and doing a good job of it.

Wonderful place to stop with a group. The weather was great so we ate outside and it was great. The service was good with attention to detail. The oysters were amazing! The seafood was fresh and tasty. Would recommend for intimate dining and getting together with friends you haven't seen in a while.

Friends had told me about Mama's so after a visit to Johns Hopkins Bayview, my husband & I decided to go to Mama's for lunch. (About 10 minutes away) we shared the oysters Rockefeller. They were delicious. Very tasty but was expecting oysters to be a bit larger. We then each had the oyster stew. Not at all disappointing. Lots... More

Three couples went to celebrate a birthday. The service was good. It was the end of the evening. The food was just ok. We are foodies and the flavors were just mediocre. We wouldn't necessarily return

We had dinner here. And we had such a great time. The oysters were great. We had a bunch of apps and oysters. Very good. Service was outstanding. Great little spot. The tuna tartar was very very good.

Love this restaurant!! We stumbled upon Mama's a couple of years ago and loved it.Second trip to Baltimore this past weekend and had to go back to Mama's and it didn't disappoint. We sat at the bar, having arrived early for our reservations. My husband ordered 2 different types of oysters (happy hour, we don't have happy hour in Massachusetts!!),... More

I turned 28 this past Friday and my buddy came down from NYC to celebrate. We went to Mama's on the Half Shell and ordered Calamari, Scallops wrapped in bacon and the Flounder with Crab Imperial. 1/3 of the way into my Flounder I find a long brown hair embedded in the Crab Imperial and looping inside the Flounder. It... More

In 2003, we opened Mama's on the Half Shell. Our opening day was the realization of five years of dreaming, discussing and collecting. As native "Baltimoreans," we felt Baltimore lacked a real seafood restaurant. Because of our love for the restaurant business, our favorite pastime is to dine out, but we struggled to find the real taste of Baltimore seafood. We missed the classics, the ones that we could count on as kids, such as Connely's & Hausner's, the one we would visit with friends from out of town who say "take us to a real Baltimore seafood house." We missed that and wanted to bring it back. That's why we created Mama's on the Half Shell. Our menu is the most important part of our restaurant, but we also want our guests to come in and feel comfortable for any occasion: bringing in a client, Sunday football, a birthday, anniversary or just some time out. It's a great place to visit after a day on the water and it's also remembered by some as the place where they got engaged. Our restaurant is a place that you could "bring it or bring it down." There is really no average age at Mama's on the Half Shell which leads us to believe this truly is a Baltimore classic for food and celebration. For a good start to a classic Baltimore meal at Mama's, order a fried crab cake with mustard and our famous Orange Crush. Have a seat at the raw bar and just drift back into your best Baltimore memory, hon! It is our hope that when you are with us you feel you are welcomed into our home with open arms.
