On our way home from Washington DC we detoured based on recommendations made by television show reviews. While the beef sandwich was not objectionable, the ribs were slathered in pedestrian gooey sauce. The seating area is tiny; you need to go outside to get to a restroom. No wet naps to clean sauce off. Location between a "gentlemen's club" and... More

I've been going to Chaps pit beef since I was a little girl. My parents went there when it was just a small smoker in a shack. The food used to be cheap and delicious . Service was quick and you could go up there any day and not have to wait in line for more than 15 minutes. I... More

Others have accurately captured the unique ambiance of Chaps Charcoal. My wife was rather leery, mindful of its immediate neighbor :). While some folks lament what Chaps IS NOT, I find it much better to focus on what Chaps IS, namely a meat emporium that serves up tasty offerings across the protein spectrum. I thoroughly enjoyed the Guy's DDD sandwich.... More

I ordered the pit beef and I like mine to be on the week done side which usually equals to tough to eat, but not this sandwich. Although well done it was moist and tender. They have a fixings bar with a variety of condiments. Service was excellent! My husband and son ordered the triple d and both said they... More

I'm from Texas, we live and breathe BBQ. This is not it, it's meat grilled on coals, served with everything piled on it then covered with gravy. I'm not sure what is attractive about it, but I guess you'll chow it down if you're really hungry.

I got a sandwich with Turkey, Pit Beef and Sausage. If it wasn't for that awesome smoky flavor you could probably make yourself the same thing at at home. The turkey seems to be packaged lunch meat thrown on the pit for a bit. The sausages are definitely some plain old store bought links but again that smoky flavor kicks... More

The food was epic... No other way to put it. I left there so full yet so happy. The sandwiches were beyond huge and the sides were to die for... I look forward to going back again next time I am in town. Definitely worth the hype!

My family and I were initially nervous about eating here since it is right next to a strip club and we have two young children. We decided to stop by anyway and it was no big deal. We arrived around 6:45 on a Thursday evening and had no wait. I ordered Guy's Triple D sandwich, my wife ordered the specialty... More

Went here to try pit beef, I like to try indigenous foods to the area. I grew up on beef on weck in Buffalo, and was hoping for a comparable experience. Slightly chewier than slow roasted Buffalo beef on weck, but very tasty. 2 of my kids also had pit beef and loved it, my wife had the BBQ beef... More
