I have been going here for many years. It is not in the nicest part of town. It sits in the parking lot of a strip club. Back in the 80's this club was called CHAPS 2000 and was one of the goto hangouts in Baltimore, by how times change. The owner of the club opened the Pit Beef place... More

We've been to the original Chaps but decided to try the new location because it was closer to 95. We were not disappointed. Same great sandwiches, very clean restaurant (we watched them cleaning the exhaust hoods while there, plus the bathroom was spotless), plenty of seating and excellent friendly service. We tried the corned beef Rachel, really tasty!

We had heard so much about this place via The Food Channel and had always told each other we wanted to try it out. First off, not a clean place, but service was good and they were friendly. Menu is confusing, seating is at a premium. The food was good. Not great but good. I would recommend it to a... More

Baltimore has some great spots for getting the local regional cuisine. Google: "Maryland Cuisine " or "Maryland State Foods"; you will see a lot of ways to cook Blue Crab, Oysters, Coddie National Bohemian Beer, Bergers Cookies and more but, just off I-95, in north Baltimore you can get good PIT BEEF, and Chaps does a good job at it..... Whatever you do come to this place absolutely ravenous. I say this because it would be an absolute sin to come here and not finish a massive pit beef sandwich. This place is a Baltimore classic and truly speaks for itself. This is one you need to experience for yourself

I'm so glad we don't have one of these here in York Pa.. because I would literally weigh over 500 lbs guaranteed. It's amazingly addictively good The meat is mouthwatering- very tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The portions are very generous and I normally like to grab an extra bun and take it home w me so I can make... More

Visiting Baltimore and a number of the locals said we can't go wrong at Chapps, plus we saw it on Tripple D. Pretty busy at lunch but we did not have to wait long. Had beef sandwiches and their mac and cheese. Portions were large and we only had to have a lite dinner that night . Would certainly stop... More

I checked out Chaps yesterday for lunch. I had the Pit Ham & Sausage Combo sandwich. Wow, it was good. Yes, it is a small place and sometimes has a line but it is worth the wait. Chaps is also in Aberdeen, MD, right off I- 95 @ Beard's Hill Shopping Plaza. Try Chaps for a great sandwich. Nice Owner... More
