Tablecloths had holes, staff had been smoking right outside, the owner had a terrible fitting toupe' on and reminded me of Lurch.....Food was mediocre, a little surprised that the menu was so big and the dining room practically empty- made me think that the freezer must be packed......

Was in Baltimore 8/10/15 for a visit. Stopped here for dinner. Was sorry to find this restaurant closed. It was a good family run German restaurant.

We love German food and have been to Eichenkranz several times. Without a doubt, it is a classic restaurant in Highlandtown with charm and rough edges. The staff is incredibly attentive and real-world, which helps make the it unique. It needs, however, a thorough cleaning and upgrade. The dining room looks like a typical Baltimore "club basement" that hasn't been... More

cheesy decor except for the vintage wall hangings in German... was beautiful in it's history. The food is EXCELLENT. Fresh vegetables, sauerbraten was soooooooooo good with light and fluffy potatoe dumplings. Don't forget the strudel which is homemade and served warm. It is a dining experience. You have to dig deep and try to imagine how nice this place was... More

This Christmas we were looking for a place that served traditional Christmas Dinner, and we found it at Eichenkranz. It certainly has that ole time charm that only Baltimore can give, surrounded by neighborhood row homes and older folks who must eat here all the time. There was a menu, but we opted for the traditional Turkey, stuffing, yams, green... More

I was so excited to locate a German restaurant that wasn't more than 30 minutes away. All I could think was how Gordon Ramsey would tear this place to shreds. It was definitely frozen in time and not a good time. Like being in the basement of a VFW, with polyester pink table cloths and silverware that looked like it... More

If you have a family with young children, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! We have an au pair from Germany that we wanted to take out to a German restaurant. Back in December (2103), we traveled 90 mins up from Chesapeake Beach, swung by the German Christmas Market, in the Inner Harbor, then headed over to Eichenkranz for dinner. Let me... More

I saw past reviews and was a little nervous about this place, but they are all over a year old so...we gave it a shot. The inside is out dated and feels old so if you are looking for "fine dinning" this is not for you. There are only about 10-15 german dishes on the large menu which I found... More

We’ve frequented Eichenkranz on numerous occasions, and on every occasion we’ve been pleased. The food is always exceptionally good. The atmosphere is very comfortable, intimate and warm. The service (Waitresses) always make us feel at home, very attentive, refilling our water glasses before we even notice they're nearing empty. Eichenkranz's prices are very reasonable.
