if you are yearning traditional Greek food, you know, spinach pie, grilled octopus, calamari...don't look any further than Samos. There is no atmosphere, just an open kitchen about 8-10 tables (probably due to covid) and Greek Islands painted on the walls. The food, however, is...authentic and done the way you want it. We went basic. The excellent Greek salad was full of cucumber, olives, tomatoes and feta cheese and topped with a creamy Greek dressing. The spinach pie was filled with spinach and cheese and the shell was flaky and light. The deep fried calamari was the best. They were crisp and light and fried just right. Samos delivers a pleasant, casual meal at a friendly price.More

Got to Greek-town to try Samos on a Friday for lunch. We tried to call ahead to order a few dishes for sharing. The line was busy for a while and once I got an answer was put on hold and the person unfortunately never...came back. So not a good start. That said, once I arrived I was greeted by a friendly lady that took my order. Despite being busy our order was ready in 20 minutes which was impressive given the small team of people working. Ordered a few pita sandwiches -Gyro, grilled Chicken & Pork Souvlaki which were all excellent! The star of the show was the Octopus starter which was seasoned and grilled perfectly. Not many places get Octopus right. The side of potatoes were tasty but had a bit too much salt. Also ordered the dip trio. Taramo, Melitzano & Tzatziki. The Taramo was some of the best I’ve ever had! Spanakopita & Beef Dolmades were very good. Overall, a home cooked feel with a small team that is preparing a good variety of Greek cuisine with care. Would highly recommend!More

Great Greek food in large portions and not expensive (so a good value). Not a great atmosphere, and BYOB (with per person corkage fee) and CASH only is a bummer. Ok for an everyday meal, but not for a business dinner or special occasion. P.S....There is a Wells Fargo ATM one block away, if you want to avoid the high-fee ATM in the restaurant.More

Love, love, LOVE! Samo's. This place is old school all the way. They do not take credit cards, but they have an inhouse ATM machine. It's alos BYOB. But it is definitely a place to try for excellent greek food. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and...authentic greek fare. The best in the city. The tour of Samos is my favorite! I could probably eat enough for two, but I've never really tried, I always end up having to share! Their tzatziki is the best too, as is thesouvlaki andspanakopita! I recommend you try it all for yourself. it's the best.More

This simple, down-home restaurant in Greektown serves the best Greek food in the city. Nothing fancy here, and they only take cash (there's an ATM available). And thank goodness that they opened an "outpost" in South Baltimore. If you like Greek food, this is the...place for you.More

Had a late lunch here. Everyone who works here and many customers are Greek--so you know it's good! Also, many people were coming in to get carryout. We had fantastic Greek salads, avgolemono soup, grilled chicken oregano (it was an entire half chicken!) with rice...pilaf, lamb skewers with rice pilaf, and Greek string beans in tomato sauce. For dessert we shared rice pudding with cinnamon. Everything was fantastic tasting. The servers were very nice. Wish I could come here every week!More

True Greek food! The Greek speciality soup of egg and lemon is fabulous! You don’t realize there’s egg in it. Grilled calamari was perfectly seasoned and very tender. Then we split the broiled 🦀 cakes. They were 95% crab meat! Definitely worth the price! Seasonal...vegetables were in a light tomato base & extremely fresh. I almost forgot the side salad. It’s not your typical “side” salad. Olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta & the house dressing. The best I’ve ever had! Don’t miss this place!More

I have been to Samos a number of times and have never been disappointed with the food and the convivial atmosphere. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. Just keep in mind that they only take cash, so come prepared. Also, Samos is...BYOB.More
