Got to Greek-town to try Samos on a Friday for lunch. We tried to call ahead to order a few dishes for sharing. The line was busy for a while and once I got an answer was put on hold and the person unfortunately never came back. So not a good start. That said, once I arrived I was greeted by a friendly lady that took my order. Despite being busy our order was ready in 20 minutes which was impressive given the small team of people working. Ordered a few pita sandwiches -Gyro, grilled Chicken & Pork Souvlaki which were all excellent! The star of the show was the Octopus starter which was seasoned and grilled perfectly. Not many places get Octopus right. The side of potatoes were tasty but had a bit too much salt. Also ordered the dip trio. Taramo, Melitzano & Tzatziki. The Taramo was some of the best I’ve ever had! Spanakopita & Beef Dolmades were very good. Overall, a home cooked feel with a small team that is preparing a good variety of Greek cuisine with care. Would highly recommend!

Samos had good food. I enjoyed a plate of rice with vegetables and also grilled peppers, onion, lamb, as well as tzatziki sauce, diced tomatoes, and pita. The shopping plaza the restaurant was located in was upscale. The neighborhood outside of the shopping plaza is a bit sketchy. Traffic in the area is heavy and not pedestrian friendly. Be careful when driving to, from your location and be cautious around traffic if walking in the neighborhood. I had tea and dined inside but outside seating is also available. Masks are required due to covid-19 at this time. The food was so good I got a second entree to go for the next day. Cost per person is $15-20. Tipping is not required but encouraged and counter service is provided. I would go back and recommend visiting Samos if you are in the area.

if you are yearning traditional Greek food, you know, spinach pie, grilled octopus, calamari...don't look any further than Samos. There is no atmosphere, just an open kitchen about 8-10 tables (probably due to covid) and Greek Islands painted on the walls. The food, however, is authentic and done the way you want it. We went basic. The excellent Greek salad was full of cucumber, olives, tomatoes and feta cheese and topped with a creamy Greek dressing. The spinach pie was filled with spinach and cheese and the shell was flaky and light. The deep fried calamari was the best. They were crisp and light and fried just right. Samos delivers a pleasant, casual meal at a friendly price.

This simple, down-home restaurant in Greektown serves the best Greek food in the city. Nothing fancy here, and they only take cash (there's an ATM available). And thank goodness that they opened an "outpost" in South Baltimore. If you like Greek food, this is the place for you.

I travel routinely for business, and wish I could find restaurants of this quality in nearly any of the cities I visit. The food was outstanding, the service great and the price amazing. The best "price to value" in Baltimore, especially since it allows you to bring your own wine, with no corkage charge. Very small, probably 30 seats, and first come first served, with no reservations accepted, classic old school local restaurant.

Absolutely some of the best, authentic Greek food I have ever had! The food came out quickly, is reasonably priced and delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed our waitress who has been there for 37 years! The only downside is that it's a "cash only" restaurant that we didn't realize until we were given the bill. It's stated in small print on the website but not everyone would take the time to find that information. It would be nice to have a sign on the entrance to the restaurant to be forewarned. Wished we lived here because this would be my most frequented restaurant!

Great Greek food in large portions and not expensive (so a good value). Not a great atmosphere, and BYOB (with per person corkage fee) and CASH only is a bummer. Ok for an everyday meal, but not for a business dinner or special occasion. P.S. There is a Wells Fargo ATM one block away, if you want to avoid the high-fee ATM in the restaurant.

The food was mostly good and plentyful. The seafood soup, however, was just mush and way overcooked. 4 of 10 of us drank wine but everyone was charged a corking fee of $2.50. I did not order or receive rice pilaf but was charged for it. They tacked on a 20% large party fee. These extra charges just sound desperate. Management needs to know.

Okay, if you cannot go to Greece, then you must come to Samos in Baltimore! Here you will be treated to the finest and freshest Greek cuisine. We have been coming here for a very long time and we are always welcomed back like family by Joyce and Tammy. They both took excellent care of us. We came for an early dinner on Saturday; arriving around 4:00 PM. We are glad that we did because the restaurant started to fill up after that. We started our epicurean journey with fried Kalamari – being Italian I can honestly say that Kalamari here is as good as it is in Italy. My husband ordered the Souvlaki Platter, which was came with Lamb and Steak skewers, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, tzatziki sauce, grilled pita wedges, and a Greek salad. We actually split the Greek salad as it was more than enough for two. I had the Gyro wrapped in grilled pita stuffed with tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce. It was enormous. We love that you can BYOB. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners.

The original is the best. Love this place… delicious saganaki, tapenade, and pita points warm & buttery… and the Neptune salad with fat juicy chargrilled shrimp…. And the BEST Greek salad dressing, hands down. Huge portions, awesome Baltimore waitresses, terrific hospitality. Top it off with sweet tea - simply delicious and most rewarding experience. The Samos in Baltimore’s very own Greektown is a true gem.

Took a chance based on Trip Advisor ratings and boy are we 4 very happy and sated campers. While not particularly pretty, it is fabulous food, great service and smiling faces. Easy on and off from I-95, every traveler looking for a great Baltimore meal must stop here.

Love, love, LOVE! Samo's. This place is old school all the way. They do not take credit cards, but they have an inhouse ATM machine. It's alos BYOB. But it is definitely a place to try for excellent greek food. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and authentic greek fare. The best in the city. The tour of Samos is my favorite! I could probably eat enough for two, but I've never really tried, I always end up having to share! Their tzatziki is the best too, as is thesouvlaki andspanakopita! I recommend you try it all for yourself. it's the best.

What a treat! Stopped by with @delightbycaro to introduce her to some old school Greek food. Glad to see the little bit of Greektown that’s still exists is thriving with Samos. Ordered almost a little of everything. All of it great. Simple but wonderful food, good service and nice little place to enjoy the afternoon. Cash only however!

My wife and I ate at Samos in mid-March 2024. We went on a Saturday night around 7:30pm for dinner. Spotting the restaurant was a little tricky because of its location in on the corner in a neighborhood of Baltimore brick townhouses. Parking was also tricky and we ended up parking 2 blocks away. The restaurant was packed as you might expect on a Saturday night. There is a very small front dining room and a medium-small back dining room. We got lucky and a table in the back was just leaving as we came in, so the wait to sit was only a few minutes. They seemed a little understaffed, but the waitresses were hustling and serving everyone pretty quickly. We got water right away and when we were ready to order, the waitress came as soon as she was free. We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer, with grilled bronzino and the seafood Santorini for mains. I would like to have had a beer with dinner, but they do not server alcohol (its BYOB – our fault for not checking as this is not uncommon). The appetizer came in about 5 minutes and was fresh, hot, and VERY tasty! Our mains came about 15 minutes later (which was about right for our pace). They were both also fresh and hot and really really good. If you are in the mood for some authentic Greek food, it is worth traveling a bit to come here. Service and food were top notch and we WILL be back to try other things. NOTE: If you are looking for the typical gyro joint, this is not it. They have them, but they are not the main menu item. Also, when we left around 8:30, there was a line out the door, so this place is pretty popular with local diners.

THE BEST GREEK RESTAURANT IN MARYLAND. Samos standards has influenced us that no other Greek restaurant can stand up to Samos. Trying other Greek restaurants is so disappointing that I only go to Samos for Greek food. Period. Go to SAMOS on Oldham Street, Baltimore MD. The Service is spectacular (2 Beautiful Baltimore "Huns", nice women who wait the tables,) Ambiance in 2 connected East Side Baltimore row houses, nice and cozy, nothing fancy. If there were more Stars, I would give all the stars.
