Great Food - Fun Time

After a show across the street, enjoyed a fun time downstairs at the small basement bar with Leroy, a 12 year bar-tending veteran of Matthews. Shared a three cheese (mozzarella, ricotta and grated) pizza with excellent local brand Roma sausage and mushrooms. Crispy iceberg lettuce, tomato and... read more

I had the Crab Pizza before and it was very good. However, last time I ordered food from there I ordered the Annes Stuffed Pie and it was terrible. There was no flavor on that stuffed pie, just a bunch of ingredients between bread. It tasted like it was even cooked. The mozzarella sticks were burned and too small for... More

You can have your fancy, expensive restaurants like Charleston, Capitol Grill, etc. Just give me an old-fashioned pizza place like Matthew's Pizza. For the past 72 years, they have been providing quality pizza and sandwiches to generations. If you want a real Baltimore experience, this is where you should go. The food is great! The service is great! The atmosphere... More

Wonderful pizza! We had the crab pizza which was devine. We love coming to Baltimore to eat at all the restaurants we see on television. Always a good time.

I remember stopping in this quint pizza shop years ago to get a bottle of water. Little did I know, I stepped in and walked out of a slice of heaven. Today, I returned to dine for my dad's and nephew's birthday and it was great. This pizzeria is a charming, hidden gem right on Patterson Park. The menu is... More

2nd visit on 2 separate business trips, 1/2 hr to xtacy from hotel. Meatballs, sausage and gravey like my grandma's. Worth the trip for true pizza. Pizza chains couldn't come close .

I'm a NYC Pizza snob so I was really surprised I enjoyed the pizza at Matthew's so much. Weird crust was thin and crispy and the sauce perfect. The giant salad and a large pizza was more than enough to feed 2. This was easily the best value we had in Baltimore this trip.

Do not expect to leave Matthew's without adding a few inches to your waist. It is worth every calorie. The restaurant itself is in a old school Baltimore row-house which means very cozy. There are only a handful of tables so the wait can be long at times. I suggest early dinner hours as being your best bet to speed... More

Matthew's pizza is an institution in Baltimore. All the pizzas are personal sized, and although the topping selections may not be what you would expect in a "normal" pizza place, what they offer here is probably more traditional and authentic. I would recommend you try the Anna's stuffed pie or the crab meat pie. No matter what you order, you... More

I was turned on to Matthews two years ago when i came to town for my brothers funeral. It was a place that he felt had the best pizza in town and i have to agree. I will try to go every time i am in Baltimore for my brother and for the best pizza!
