Went went for supper and I had a plate with two enchiladas, a crispy beef taco, a flauta, and a chilie rellino with rice and beans and it was excellent! Very big protions too! It also came with fresh guacamole and it was seasoned perfectly!! My hubby had the cheeseburger and he said it was really good. The service was... More

Ambiance was great. There was a local live band playing and was actually the draw for us when we were looking for a place to eat. Weather was cooperative for outdoor dining so we took advantage. It took a while to be tended but we expected that because at the time we arrived it appeared there was one person as... More

Since dining establishments in Fort Davis make up their business hours on the fly day to day, Cueva only place open. Btw when we arrived and asked hours told till 9pm but when customers arrived 8:40 they were turned away saying they were closed. We eat Mexican all the time so think we know good. The good: friendly young girl... More

First off I don't expect much when dining in small towns establishments, except maybe looking forward to the small town charm. This place was anything but charming. We sat ourselves and waited 10 minutes for any staff to show up out of the kitchen which is where they all want to hang out. Very rude and non welcoming. While standing... More

I would describe the Cueva as simply-real. We love this place and come here every time we go to Ft. Davis. The food is yummy and is old-style tex mex. It is not fancy or trying to be something it is not. In ,my opinion, it is the perfect neighborhood Mexican food restaurant. The staff was very nice and the... More

We had the lunch buffet. The fried fish was ok, the corn and salad. There were two kinds of enchiladas, none with meat, just different cheese and sauce. The retried beans were so salty, they were inedible, rice wasn't anything special. Left disappointed and hungry. The front of the restaurant was also too warm. I am not hard to please,... More

This place does not look like much, but the food is very very good. I had chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce, and my wife had the cheese enchiladas with queso sauce. They were excellent, not too spicy, and not too bland - just right. It was busy when we were there, but the service was good as was the... More

Have eaten here 3 times over several visits to Ft. Davis & all 3 times we had friendly service and the food was excellent. The chips are thick and the salsa has enough heat to wake up your taste buds, but not overpowering. Particularly like the #4 - green enchiladas & taco with refried beans & rice. The green chili's... Perhaps it was because of the name, but my expectations for a great Mexican restaurant were dashed. Cueva de Leon isn't bad, it just isn't particularly notable. Ambiance is buffet-modern, beer/liquor must be brought in (easy to do from a shop across the street, but a disappointment to some party members), and service was "casual". It seemed to be where... Although it was a Saturday night very few places in Fort Davis were open so we didn't have much choice except coming here. Service was terrible, waited an hour for a burrito and when it came it was luke warm and although allegedly contained beef, you'd have been hard pushed to find any. Decided to skip the buffet as it... More
