First let me say that the negative reviews sound like folks eating in a different restaurant! This food was fresh, fun, and obviously prepared with a verve and enthusiasm one associates more with an upscale trendy urban restaurant than an isolated outpost literally in the middle of nowhere. From the salad dressings, through the meal, and into the desserts each... More

We were visiting Davis Mountain State Park and were glad to find this restaurant inside the park at the Indian Lodge. We stopped for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. They had minestrone soup that day and it was so delicious I went back for seconds! My husband opted for a salad instead of fries with his sandwich and he... More

The menu wasn't enticing so we had dinner in town. But we did have breakfast here and it was pretty bland. They only offer a buffet breakfast on Sundays and buffets are only a value meal option for large appetites who can make 3+ runs thru the line. The bright spot was the fresh fruit.

We have eaten at this restaurant at least three times in the last 8 years. The service has usually been good and we have not had to wait long for our food. Our most recent experience confirms my belief that this restaurant needs a serious upgrade. The food comes in good size portions, but it is vey bland. My husband's burger... More

This is inside the State Park. They had a great variety and quality food. Though a small staff, they hustled to get things done quickly, but in a quality way. If you go in September, they are closing the restaurant for a year to remodel.

Wonderful lunch, great food and service. We had the buffet, it was a chilly day so the beef & vegetable soup hit the spot. Loved the soup so much, got some to take home. We also had the salad and everything was fresh. The service as great too. Will go back again, when I visit my sister.

The restaurant is located in the Indian Lodge. The food is excellent and prices very reasonable. The menu is varied and they also offer buffet or menu items.

We arrived at 7 pm on a Wednesday evening. Salad bar was almost depleted of its limp-looking lettuce, and the service staff was mostly nowhere to be found. The only food highlight was the grilled trout, tasty and tender. Sides were gluey mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini that someone had forgotten to stir in the pan, so half was scorched... More

This restaurant is located in the Indian Lodge at the Davis Mountains State Park, and is run by the park. The food and service are good and the prices are what one might expect in this type of resort-type location. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with the typical breakfast items (eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, potatoes, and pancakes). It also offers... More

I visited here in the Fall of 2014 and again Spring 2015, reviewing it both trips. The service is THE best. Food is great as well. Pricing is very reasonable. My only complaint is that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, both days I was staying at the Indian Lodge and had to go into Fort Davis for dining.... More
