We live locally and when in town, and not wanting to stand outside for take away fish and chips, this is where we go. A local institution that has been around over 40 years and the owners are from the UK and not only offer the obligatory fish and chips but English fare also. You have the choice of halibut,... More

If it was not for tourists who know nothing about seafood, this place would croak. The food was really not good. The server agreed that the chowder was under cooked and over salted. The prices are way too high for dumping frozen blobs in hot oil and serving. We had a gift certificate, pretty sure those people hate us.

We go to Astoria at least once a month to satisfy my fish and chips craving, or my craving for English specialties. The Ship Inn delivers by anyone's measure. Each day, at least one English specialty such as Chicken Pasty, Bangers and Mash, or Cornish Pasty is available on the menu. In addition, they have the best fish and chips... More

We had a window seat that gave us a view of the boardwalk outside and the Columbia River. The food was amazing and the portions were huge! Well worth the visit and we will definitely go back if we are in the area.

We were driving through Astoria from WA State to Oregon. Nice waterfront seafood restaurant - place was packed but service very quick. The food was really good and the wait staff very attentive. The river there is not as scenic to look at as in other places but on the water nonetheless.

Great location with friendly staff. Vegetarian roast spoiled by no vegetarian gravy available. Shame as that would be so easy to solve. Meal was very dry without, so was spoiled for just a small amount of effort. Rest of meal enjoyed.

Delivers exactly what it appears to offer. Good but not incredible fish at a very reasonable price. Not white table cloth dining, but fried seafood with a nice beer done right. Super views if the harbor places this well into the plus. Try it - you'll like it!

After a long absence I returned to visit Astoria, OR. The Ship Inn was my first choice for a meal ... I was not disappointed. The seafood was fresh and well prepared just as it had been when I lived there.. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The river view is a real plus!

The place does smell of cooking oil, and it has obviously seen some action over the years. The staff were lovely, and a senior fish and chips at $5-50 was terrific value. The chowder was nice but temperature wise, could have been served a bit hotter. Draft beers at $4-50 were good.

I don't leave a restaurant very often feeling very upset about the money I'd just spent there but in this case it was exactly how I felt. I bought lunch for three.. and nothing was good. One thing you might think they's get right was fish and chips but, no... Cold, bad.. Will obviously never go back.
