After my visit to the coast and on the way home I stopped for lunch in Astoria. I don't like fast food so I selected T. Paul's Urban Cafe on the main drag. I ordered one of the specials that day, the steak & cheese...taco thing (I'm not good at the Mexican dishes). You order at the counter and the staff brings the food to your table, which is very good in this environment. The "taco thing" was excellent, and a beer helped it too. This is a great place for lunch.More

Four of us had a mini vacation in Astoria for a 3 day weekend. We were too tired after driving from California for a night on the town so we did take out. They got all of our orders right and had them ready when...promised. The clam chowder was thick and delicious and everyone agreed the crab fettuccini was absolutely delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their appetizers, salads and entrees. Look forward to eating in their dining room on our next visit.More

Walked in, ordered up front and stepped back out to eat at the only table outside. Service a little slow, but we didn't care because the staff is attentive and it was a beautiful sunny day. Surrounded by potted plants in the heart of old...Astoria. What could be better? Lunch! We had iced tea (which was refilled) and jerk chicken quesadilla. Lots of flavor! The salsa is great. We've eaten here many times. The staff is always wonderful, food is colorful and delicious. They respect COVID-19 restrictions but they are not overt about it.More

Great environment and amazingly friendly staff! All CDC guidelines were being followed and it was clean. I was spaced away from others. The food was good, different combinations. However, the dessert was truly the best I’ve ever had. It was great and I’d go back...again over and over for the dessert. They also had a lemonade that was tasty and thirst quenching.More

Not a big place but nice. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The menu changes and I'll tell you that we weren't offered everything that is on the menu on this page. They do do a lot of quesadillas....I'm not a fan so I had the seafood salad with a bowl of clam chowder. The salad was good, fresh but nothing to write home about. The clam chowder could've used a little bacon and more potatoes but it was good as is. Not spectacular. Another friend had the tacos and said they were great with lots of flavor. Another friend had a croissant sandwich and salad and she said it was good too. They shine with their desserts though. We shared a Lemon Shaker Pie and a piece of Carrot Cake. The lemon shaker pie is made with thin slices of lemon and lots of sugar. I'd never had it before and it was really really lemony! A bit too much on it's own but they serve it with a raspberry sauce and some whipped cream and together, it's heaven. Now I can only tell you that the carrot cake was amazing. I got another piece just to take home because I didn't want to share it! Very friendly servers and service was great. So fun to peruse the shops around the restaurant after lunch. We'll probably be back especially to try some of the other desserts they have.More

The food here is prepared well and is tasty. We have enjoyed the fire-roasted tomato pasta and the quesadillas, as well as the desserts. Salads are just OK. Prices are very reasonable—well under $20 for most entrees and under $10 for appetizers. And you order...at the counter, with the food brought to you by pleasant servers. The backroom has comfortable chairs and a sofa, with posters of Marilyn Monroe.More

Had a relatively late dinner. The accomadated two of us an hour before close. We listened to about 45 min live folk music by two gentlemen sitting just steps from our table. The food was five star and very tasty and well presented, along with...the help staff being super friendly and accomodating. Everytime we are in Astoria, we have to swing by this fabulous place.More

Stopped for lunch on a long drive day. Wife had the Pacific Shrimp Quesadilla and a cup of chowder. I went with the Kick Ass Cajun Quesadilla and the chowder. Both were tasty, but the Kick Ass was our pick, with its popping heat, while...the other was much milder. Chowder was outstanding. Interesting decor. Certainly worth the stop.More

Reviews sounded interesting so we made our way here visiting from PDX. We were enchanted by the lunch menu, so many interesting combinations of salads, quesidillas and sandwitches, hard to choose. Wife got the salmon burger so tasty and I got the bay shrimp, smoked...turkey, provolone cheese, bacon lettuce tomato on grilled sourdough bread-stacked high...oh my I gobbled it up! And splurged on a bowl of out of this world clam chowder made daily...I was in heaven! Decore in here was retro and cool; esp the Marilyn (Monroe) lounge in back dressed up in style for a cool ambience for conversation. Its a small cafe, well worth the visit and the food absolutely top notch. Will be our go to lunch place for future Astoria visits. (We went to T Pauls Supper Club for dinner tonight- I believe run by the same proprietor- and it was excellent food also!)More

Ate here while visiting Astoria and liked it. Our service was very good, food came out fast. My wife had the Ginger Salmon and it was very good. I had the special, which consisted of 6 ravioli for $20, very disappointed in the portion size,...but the flavor was great.More

Kind of cramped but the food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the prices were really good. We were staying south of Astoria but drove up for the day and were looking for a lunch spot in the historic district when we found this...place. Would have given this the highest rating save for the aforementioned limited size.More

Urban Cafe, not the restaurant next door, has wonderful food at reasonable prices. Order at the counter (menus there, as well), and it's delivered to your table of choice. We ate lunch there mid July 2019 and were delighted with quality and price. We did...not order dessert, but the table menu showed us an interesting assortment at current, typical dessert prices. For mid tourist season, we were surprised that the Cafe wasn't crowded. Were peops all eating at the usual and prevalent fast food joints on the roads in and out of Astoria? They should have parked downtown and found this tiny, but excellent cafe.More

Let me start by saying the food was soooo good! Biggest variety of quesadillas I’ve ever seen on a menu! I only give it 4 stars because it was a little confusing when we got there. It was really busy, there were no seats, no...one to greet us, but there was a sign that said to order at the counter, so we weren’t sure what to do. Eventually a young lady came by and took our name and said there would be a 15 minute wait for a table. So, apparently, you have to make sure a table is available first, then you order at the counter and take a seat.More

So this place was highly recommended by some locals. Cool place very fun motif. However we have been sitting here for 30 minutes for a quesadilla! There are only three couples here! We have heard two different excuses! Don’t do it people!
