The Cubans looked and tasted like pressed lunch meat ham sandwiches. They may have forgotten the pork and Swiss. I don’t recall looking for the cheese. However, I don’t recall tasting it either. The black bean soup was good, but ordinary. No onions. The service...and cleanliness were exceptional as I recall from past experiences. This was a mild disappointment. I hoped to enjoy an authentic Cuban lunch. Also, no kids menu. Lunch was $65 for my wife and I with 3 young children. We all ordered soup and 1/2 sandwiches.More

Needed an impromptu lunch spot in the area and despite it being almost empty the food and service were wonderful. Norma was so friendly and insisted on replacing one meal when she noticed our son wasn’t really eating his. It was very good, just not...the style that he was expecting. This was so kind and rare to offer a replacement. The Cuban sandwiches were excellent. Meat empanadas delicious.More

Havana Jax has moist, perfect paella, huge portion. Empanadas were so excellent we had to split another one after dessert before leaving - the mini salad thing they served with them gave a zing to the delicious meat filling and crisp pastry. Ropa vieja was...as good as any I ever tasted - just the right amount of pepper and tasty gravy. As for the desserts... Fantastic Flan, Ridiculously Good Rice Pudding, with Cuban coffee... We have eaten here before but this time we had the perfect combination of menu items, the chef was at the top of their game as everything was delicious. Do not listen to people who complain about ambience or price. Amazing quality ingredients and classic Cuban cooking are worth paying for, and the charming waiter and up-tempo music (and the sweet dining company...) were all the ambience needed. Bring a good attitude, your appetite, and pick the menu items I recommended and you will be super-happy.More

Came on a Thursday night around 7:00, they had an all you could put on a plate buffet for $10, second refill was $5. Not a big selection of food, but the basics, baked chicken, beef, salad, vegetables, rice, and more. Very good waiter service,...kept our cups full of soda. Desert was extra, but still a good value, a huge piece of flan for $5. They also have a full menu. There is club attached to the restaurant, the wall is open so you here loud music, a bit unusual, but did not bother me.More

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed in a Caribbean sort of way. You don't come here to fill up an run. You enjoy the food and the conversation with your friends and family. The food is authentic Cuban cuisine. I ordered a mojito. It was...tasty and refreshing. So much so that I had to order a second. For appetizers, our group of six had the Havana Trio, a basket of tostones (twice-fried green plantains), yuca frita (fried cassava root), and chicharrones (fried pork chunks). One basket was plentiful enough to satisfy all six in our party and have everyone sample each of the three delicious items. They were served with mojo sauce that made them absolutely irresistible. The restaurant has a menu that, from my experience in other cities in Florida, is typical of Cuban restaurants in general. It features palomilla steak, picadillo, ropa vieja, roast pork shoulder, vaca frita, and chicharrones. These are served with white or yellow rice, black beans and fried ripe plantains. In addition to these combos, there are Chef Specialties that include paella, bistec empanizado, arroz con pollo, seafood enchilado, churrasco steak, fried jumbo shrimp, and fried tilapia. Prices are very reasonable. I had my favorite, pork chunks, white rice, black beans, and fried ripe plantains. Their fried pork chunks are prepared in a way that ensures the outside is crispy while the interior is juicy and delicious. The other members of the group had a variety of other entrees. Everyone found the food they ordered to be delicious and the quantity more than they could eat at one sitting. Our waiter was pleasant and accomodating, often anticipating our request before we voiced them.More

Four adults stopped in for lunch and found only one other set of diners among the over 25 other tables/booths. Tho there were obvious employees within sight, not a single one greeted us and we had to find our own way to a table in...this oversized restaurant. Wait staff was friendly when arrived, but food was very over cooked and dry when served. Tho menu is sufficient, none of the meals matched well lit electronic pictures displayed above the cashiers counter designed to advertise each of the meals ordered. They were not even close. Having extensive knowledge of Cuban food, each of us left wondering how this restaurant is in business, each of us have identical impressions. It is very unfortunate an establishment with such great potential puts zero effort in to dining.More

I have been eating at Havana Jax Café for a little over a year. The buffet price & food, along with the quality have improved over time. I enjoy the plantains, fish, fresh fruits & macaroni salad they home make or the slaw. The fish...& plantains have not been on the buffet in a few weeks, but all the food is good.More

Had a great meal here tonight — roast pork, rice, beans and plantains. Tasty Margaritas, too. Great value. Miguel was super helpful.

I had lunch yesterday and enjoyed a fantastic buffet of pork, chicken, fried fish, rice, beans, salad, plantains, etc. It was like home cooking and I will be back as a regular in the future.

Wonderful service and excellent food. The slow roasted pork with citrus sauce was incredible! Really enjoyed the Flan too. Excellent experience in every way. Highly recommend!
