I have been a loyal customer of Cafe Kabob since they first opened many years and owners ago. Their food has always been consistent and good. But, now, it's great! The new owner, George, is the best of them all. Mary is wonderful, too! George...has been in the restaurant business a long time and loves what he does and is incredibly good at it. The food is better than ever. They now even filter the water and serve their beverages in glass. Those little subtleties make a difference in taste and demonstrate their commitment to a higher level. Their meats show the quality. Cafe Kabob is also very clean, a very important aspect lacking in many American eateries today. Lastly, everyone there is very friendly and will quickly engage in conversation if the situation arises. Try it, you will not be disappointed.More

We discovered Cafe Kabob while searching for a local restaurant that could provide authentic Persian cuisine for a Language Lunch n Learn program at my office. Cafe Kabob fit the bill. After explaining what we were looking for, the staff were very helpful in making...recommendations regarding popular menu items as well as how much food we would need for our group. What really impressed me, though, was the staff's willingness to accommodate our schedule: Normally, the restaurant doesn't open until 11 a.m., but when I told them I would need to pick up the food at 11 in order to deliver it to the office in time for our luncheon, they immediately offered to open early in order to prepare our order. Sure enough, when I arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes before 11, the staff was there, putting the finishing touches on our order. Best of all, everyone at work raved about the menu, which included a delicious Shirazi salad, basmati/saffron rice, three types of shish kebab (saffron chicken, ground beef and filet of beef), grilled tomatoes and "s" cookies for dessert (sort of like a Persian shortbread cookie). I would highly recommend Cafe Kabob to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Persian cuisine themselves or to have them cater your event.More

The food was very good but the restaurant was small and in a strip mall. My only real issue was ordering what I wanted. They were either reluctant or unwilling to create a combination that I wanted for dinner. you have to take it the...way it is presented on the menu, not necessarily what you want to eat exactly.More

Cafe Kabob pulled up on our search as we were traveling through Jacksonville to SC. It is right off the highway (east to get to!!), and was a fantastic place for lunch. Large portions, great prices, great value. Very friendly, accommodating owners. Well worth the...trip to try it. We had kebabs and khoresh-e-fesenjoon (pomegranate paste with crushed walnuts and chicken)-both were out of this world! If you like pomegranate, GET this. It was so, so, good. Hummus was amazing. Gluten free friendly dishes available, and there were very accommodating to offer fresh cucumbers and green peppers to eat with hummus instead of Pita. My husband had the Pita and raved about it as well. Baklava and saffron ice cream were such treats: delicious and fresh. Very refreshing. We will be repeat customers whenever we travel through. Wish they were closer to where we lived. Amazing service and good. Definitely try it.More

We called Cafe Kabob on multiple occasions to obtain a catering quote for our wedding. They were inconsistent on their responses and kept telling us some odd stories about how they had a business partner back out and how their problems were that person's fault....I can now understand why that partner left though. We visited Cafe Kabob on Saturday afternoon, July 1st. The manager, "James" (Jalal), gave us his word that he would contact us by Monday while we were still in town. He lied. Unfortunately, he already proved himself dishonest while we were still on our first visit. He took the liberty of ordering food for our table before we even saw the menu. While eating, he conveniently disappeared. His staff lied to us and said that "he had to leave right away." We thought this was odd, but we paid anyways. Our car was around the side of the building, and as we pulled out, sure enough, we spotted Jalal hiding behind the building waiting for us to leave! We paid the dishonest owner and tipped the staff who lied to us. I hope the little $42 was worth it. None of our family or friends in the Jacksonville area will ever darken your doorstep.More

I went because of the yelp reviews and i was not disappointed. Was staying nearby on a business trip. No idea where to go. I got lucky. The owners were kind and polite and just nice people. I wasn't sure what to order so they...kind of chose for me. SCORE! I had chicken and beef kabobs over basmati rice. Meal was fantastic. The deserts are going to tempt you so be ready. I had a coconut macaroon that was delicious and I bought a tray of goodies for next day at the office. Enjoy. Give them a try for something new and different.More

We wanted to try Persian food, and this simple cafe was recommended. The food is lovely, fresh, delicious and carefully prepared. The owners are sisters who are warm, hospitable and very proud of their cuisine. They do their own baking and make Persian icecream from...scratch. The kabobs are delicious - the chicken is marinated in saffron and olive oil.The food is delicately seasoned. Try a combination platter to get a sample of many dishes. This cuisine is not the same as Greek, Lebanese, or mid-eastern. It has its own character. The restaurant is a very casual cafe - not fancy but very good food.More
