My fiancé and I went to BB’s on a Tuesday night for happy hour around 5:30 (it goes until 6). I was a bit nervous and the place seemed empty when we arrived but by 6:30 when we left it had filled up and had a bit of a line forming to be seated. The happy hour menu is short, 3 beers, 3 wines, 4 cocktails and a couple (maybe 3-4?) small plates. We had the tea cocktail and old fashioned, both were really nicely prepared and presented. The old fashioned had a big block ice cube and luxardo cherries, and the tea cocktail was very drinkable and super tasty - at I think $5 each we were pleasantly surprised. We also ordered the shrimp skewer appetizer from the happy hour menu ($6) and the calamari from the regular menu ($12?). Both were great, very flavorful and creative. I’m a chef and my fiancé is pretty picky and neither one of us could find anything negative to say. The service was attentive and the bartender chatted with us a bit between making drinks. We each had a beer (both from a can, which for $3, fine) and ended up with about a $35 tab total. Overall it’s one of the best dining experiences we’ve had since moving to Jax and were looking forward to going back to try some of the other creative menu choices (hello jerk grouper cheeks!!) and probably a lunch or 2, although I will say the dinner prices are a bit out of our typically range but very tempting!

Small but very cozy and comfortable restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday evening and they had specials that were reasonably priced, Appetizers, salad, entree and desert for not much more than the price of a regular entree alone. One of us had the chicken and I had the whole fried pompano. Everything was very good and service was excellent.
Note: I made a mistake by previously putting this review as BB’s Tavern, my apologies...BB’s Restaurant and Bar is the correct one.

We were staying the night in Jacksonville and didn't have any dinner plans. We were considering eating at Morton's, but fortunately we saw the delivery person from BB's going into our hotel with a delivery. We decided to check out their website and we began drooling right away! We placed our order and paid for it over the phone with Austin so everything was contactless. That was a great relief and he even recommended the duck wontons in response to my questions (thank you very much!!) We decided on a bunch of small plates that included the crab appetizer that were 2 good-sized crab cakes with a spicy sauce, an almond crusted calamari appetizer that was not a good idea for a to-go order, a duck wonton dish that was out of this world and made us wish we had ordered 2 of those dishes, a goat cheese salad that was way over the top on taste and presentation including the goat cheese stuffed bread (croutons) and finished off with the caramel chocolate cake that was so decadent 2 of us couldn't finish 1 piece, although we tried our hearts out!

I ALWAYS read reviews before I go to a new restaurant and after seeing these reviews, I was really impressed. I ended up getting the Chilean seabass and 2 desserts. When the food arrived I was excited and when I got to my room and opened the to-go container, I was disappointed first at the presentation. I get small portions but the food just flopped around in this huge container and then when I went to taste it, the potatoes were cold and the 5 string beans were cold as well. The fish was cooked great but lukewarm. I was told that the dessert that had ice cream wouldn't melt because they prepare that last. I think they spent more time making sure the ice cream wouldn't melt instead of getting hot food to me. After dropping close to $40 on a dish, I expect it to be hot. COVID has allotted restaurants to perfect their to-go and delivery orders. I really suggest perfecting this because we (customers) invest too much money in a dish for it to be served like this.

Great vibe and wonderful service. A good brunch selection with $10 bottomless mimosas. The caramel apple French toast was excellent. The crab cake sandwich not the choice if you’re a crab cake aficionado. It is flavorful, but crab is not the star of the show in the crab cake. A southwest flavor profile and reminiscent of a conch fritter in flavor and texture. The croissant bread pudding is a journey into deliciousness that won’t disappoint and have you running to the back of the line to ride again and again.

My wife and I have been here for lunch, dinner, and now, finally brunch. First things first, always try to make a reservation as it ensures a seamless experience (especially for dinner). The brunch lives up to all the hype. I had the french toast and my wife had the banana fosters pancakes. Both incredible. The Bellini's are refreshing and the corned beef hash is very good (could use more corned beef IMO). Service is always excellent and the desserts will more than satisfy any sugar craving you desire and are amazing as well.

I read reviews and booked reservations as it was close to our hotel and show.
Everything lived up to expectations! Our table was in far corner, waitress attentive and efficient with great recommendations, food was tasty and reasonably priced.
We didn’t order anything for happy hour as a wine was recommended with my dish and was an excellent choice.
The shared salad is HUGE, but a nice start to the meal.
Highly recommend reservations as every seat was filled by 5:45.

Loved this restaurant. Some of the most creative cooking we have had in years. While we did not like everything (crab cakes mostly breading), would love to go back to see what is new on the menu. Great wine list with solid options at all price points. Happy hour one of best in town for both food and drinks. Make sure you get a reservation - with such a good happy hour, it fills up early.

I am hesitant to review it as this is our little hidden gem in Jax. Quaint, so reservations are suggested with only 4 outdoor small tables. It took us four tries to get there but once you do, you will be back. The Charcuterie Board was amazing. The salmon tartar as well. And the desserts....oh my! Nice Beer and Wine List. Can be pricey depending on your selection but everything we had in two visits was excellent as well as the service. See you in May Ashley!

The food was OK, but the service was very typically north floridian-lousy and unattentive. The server only showed up at the end to collect the money. No "how was it?" etc.
Also, parking is kind of an issue. Very limited amount of spaces in the lot; we had to park in some disgusting parking lot behind a Thai place across the street.

Delivered via a service to my mom’s hospital room. Started off with duck wonton Napoleon based on other reviews - this was an explosion of flavors in a fun deconstructed dish (awesome)! Then the warm goat cheese salad which wasn’t still warm when I got it, but was outstanding, loved the salad dressing. We finished with the bread pudding and rum cake - both were remarkably delicious. BB’s is now a permanent favorite on my list!

My wife and I have lived in the greater JAX area for two years and have probably been to every place imaginable for dinner. Sometimes we want upscale for a special occasion, sometimes we want very laid back, and sometimes we look for an nice place that we could go to regardless. Finding great food, great service, great menu selection, and great dessert options in one place has been challenging. LOOK NO MORE! This is our new favorite place to go regardless of the occasion. The ONLY thing it's missing is it's not waterfront but once you're inside it doesn't matter. It has a cozy and safe ambience with an open kitchen and dessert display case that you have to see to appreciate. We have not found a place with the quality of food and service (even at higher price points) in NE Florida. I highly recommend trying this place for lunch or dinner. They also offer brunch which I cannot wait to try.

Had only been here for lunch and thought we would walk to it from our hotel for a pre-fireworks dinner. After a quick, early stumble with the hostess about seating we were seated at a table of our choice in a near empty restaurant. But all was more than forgotten because of our server, Kailee. In short, she was a rock star. She made the evening so delightful and comfortable, while guiding us through an incredible menu. The drinks from their bar were perfect and their wine selection was very nice plus had a reasonable price point. We needed help, because we decided to for forgo the incredible list of entrees and focus on the smaller plates. We started with two items off of the happy hour list, the shrimp lollipops and the steak frites. Both were outstanding and are highly recommended. The shrimp lollipops were offered with sweet, Thai chili and a cilantro sesame aioli. My wife wouldn't let me lick the plate. The steak frites had a wonderful chimichurri sauce and onions and peppers. Whaat an incredible start. We moved on to the fried brussel sprouts, which were crispy and done with a kung pao vinaigrette and had candied walnuts and a gochujang aioli. Both we would (again) highly recommend. We also had the almond crusted calamari, with sesame seeds, asian vegetable salad, a tangerine cream sauce and sesame oil drizzle. My goodness they were so good and really large (sharing) appetizer portions. We ended the evening with two creamy decafs cappuccinos and a slice of dulce de leche cheesecake (so good) and some vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. But, even if you don't want dessert, you need to let them walk you over to the desert counter so you can look at all of the freshly baked offerings. We had two cocktails each, and a couple of glasses of wine... and our bill, pretax came to $150.
A fabulous night with really special food, an outstanding server and a great atmosphere. And by the was, half way through our meal the place magically became packed! So make reservations... and enjoy!

One of our favorite restaurants in Jacksonville, but our last visit had several issues. Steak we ordered medium came out raw with crab meet and sauce cold. Seemed like BĂ©arnaise Sauce came out of freezer and had never been warmed up. Veggies cold as well. Loved the wine list but received one of the smallest wine pours we have had in years from any restaurant. Seems like some of the attention to detail we had experienced in the past was missing.

I was in town for work and stopped by for Saturday brunch. Service was very good. They were nice enough to let me have a patio table while I dined solo. I tried the crab Benedict and loved it. It’s only one crab cake, but it’s huge! It was also a welcome change to have a Benedict over chickpeas and veggies instead of fried potatoes and/or an English muffin. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take advantage of the bottomless mimosas they had available. Maybe next time I’m in town. ;)
