After flying into the city, this spot was where three of us had our first meal. The waitress, Ashley, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. We found it a great place to relax and wind down, and the abundance of sayings and signs encourage that. We all had individual size pizzas (and the deep dish that my husband ordered was gigantic), and we were all able to take out delicious leftovers for the next day's lunch.

I’ve come to Carmine’s on several occasions while visiting Jacksonville. Every time I’ve ordered something different from the menu and each time it’s phenomenal. The Chicago style pizza is amazing and so is the nyc style crust. Literally cannot go wrong with anything here. And the service is excellent. Everyone is personable and friendly. Observing them interact with customers, it’s clear many patrons are regulars and on a first name basis with the staff.

This place has been there forever and not to much changes. Certainly not a chain pizza restaurant. Wife and I each had one slice of pizza $4 a slice although we have always ordered a whole pizza and carried half of it home. Although the place was about full at 815 pm on Wednesday and music was playing I could still hear well enough to communicate and that is an issue most everywhere else.

Thanks for the great review John!! We will be celebrating our 9 year anniversary on March 1st. We feel our guests should be able to talk without screaming at each other, so we constantly monitor the music volume to match the crowd. We are glad you and your wife enjoyed your slices but keep in mind we sell them for $2.00 each, with toppings 75 cents extra, for our Happy Hour. Monday-Friday, from 2:00 to 6:00. Also half price domestic, Bold City and Intuition drafts!! We hope to see you again soon!!

So much for making sure the customer is satisfied and tonight I definitely was not! I ordered dinner online to be delivered from Carmine's Pie House. I received my order in the time that I was told I would get it delivered but one of the items was incorrect. I contacted the restaurant and the "manager" on duty tonight at 7:00pm although I'm not sure she really was a manager because she definitely did not sound like a manager, act like a manager or handle it like an actual manager would. Because she basically said I'm sorry I can't help you, you have to call Chow Now. I could not find anywhere on Chow Now website where there was a phone number to call which was very inconvenient. So then I did a support chat with one of their agents, her name was Daresa and she did not help me either. I was told they would remake my food but I would have to wait an hour to receive it when I already had other food sitting here getting cold. So I had no other choice than to just get a refund because I was not about to wait an hour for my food which I ordered and was delivered to me incorrectly but somehow I'm the one being inconvenienced?!. I am extremely livid about this. That is no way to treat a customer. I ordered online for delivery because it's supposed to be convenient and none of what I experienced tonight was convenient at all. The fact that the restaurant was busy and it would take an hour to get my food was not my problem, the fact that the delivery company had to "try and find a driver" as they said, was also not my problem, although that is how they acted and treated me. My problem was that they messed up my order to begin with and now I was being inconvenienced to wait a ridiculous amount of time or not get my food at all which really pissed me off!!! Definitely NOT good customer service. I will be posting this everywhere I can to let people know exactly how they treat their customers!!

This restaurant needs to be cleaned up. I get the funky quirky vibe, but this place needs some TLC, and how about a cushion for the hard wood booth seating. Big serving on the Eggplant Parm sub but not to my taste, too greasy not "gently fried" as stated on their menu. Cost was fair and front staff polite. The music was good and at a conversational volume.

Carmines Pie house is a joy to dine in! The food is phenomenal, and the people who work here are quite a team, as well as like family! London and Richard, servers here, cleaned up dressing on the floor that another server dropped. She also handed off dishes of food from the kitchen to another server, who placed them on the table. She then packed up food for another and handed a sharpie to another server to mark an order. This place is great!

3 of us here visiting and looked for restaurants with good reviews. This place is off the chain! 3 adults shared a small Chicago style Train Wreck, $24 - and a chicken stromboli, $11. We are big eaters and still had food to take home. The waitress was amazing also. We are hoping to go back before we leave to head home.

Our waitress, Claudia, was fantastic. We tried the garlic bread starter, chicken parm (5 stars), lasagna (4 stars), and eggplant parm (3 stars). Portions are HUGE. Either save room for dessert or take some to go. My peanut butter cake gets ALL the stars.

This was our favorite restaurant that we visited while in town for the Gator Bowl (Go Cocks!). The deep dish pizza was amazing. I enjoyed the buy one/get one half off beer specials on Thursday evening. They were out of the zucchini fries appetizer so we opted for cheesy bread. It was fine, nothing special. I enjoyed the atmosphere-it's a small restaurant and almost every table was full when we arrived at 7:30. Our server, Kristin, was the best! She was so friendly and helpful and even wrote down several places of interest in Jacksonville for us to check out. So nice of her! We were able to get to some of the places she told us about.

Went here for a deep dish take out pizza. Sat at the bar after we ordered and had a beer. Friendly staff. It was a Thursday evening and they were hopping! Ordered a piece of cake as well. We reheated the pizza a couple hours later and it was delicious! I wished it had more ingredients (pep, saus, mush), it wasn't stingy, I just like lots! The cheese was excellent, soft and flavorful. The crust was crisp but tender. Red sauce had a nice flavor, not overwhelming. All the dishes of pasta we saw coming out for dine in looked great. Would like to try them in the future. Well done, Carmine's!

Enjoyed five points on Friday so we thought we would try a different place for Saturday... I hate chains so always want to find a locals type of place. Funky decor and a bit irreverent. But if I wanted dominos I could have stayed at home..
This place is small. We went early, about 5:30 and they were already half full. By the time we left at 7:15 or so, they were full.
Everything is made fresh so you will sit for a bit. Order an appetizer first and then absorb the menu. So many things to consider. We ordered the caprese salad. Yummy! Enough to share with someone. We also ordered a 10” chicago and the Mimis lasagna. The lasagna was very good. The Chicago pizza- it is a bread crust, not a pie crust. Very filling!! We took home enough for dinner tomorrow. Food is reasonably priced, especially when you look at the portion size. We will be back to try the New York style.
They serve wine and local beers and those are reasonable as well.

This place had really good reviews so we stopped by and ordered the NY style pizza. The single order slices were huge but the flavor was lacking. It wasn’t a bad pizza but it wasn’t good either. Staff was attentive and friendly and I did like the overall atmosphere.

I was not hungry when I arrived but my friends were and ordered pizza, onion rings, a gyro and I partook. Food was very tasty. The servers were attentive and very, very busy but all in all they rate high on my scale! I will definitely return! No masks being worn but we enjoyed the glimpse of a server dancing. :-)

We ordered takeout pizza and it was amazing! The staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending menu items. We ordered the Zeus' Mt. Olympus pie and it was so flavorful, and was more than enough food for my husband and I. The marinara sauce is so flavorful, and the crust stuffed with cheese is amazing. We also got a Greek salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and topped with plenty of quality toppings. Would highly recommend this local pizza joint!

When searching for a new place to try we came across Carmine’s. This place did not disappoint. The food was delicious. All 3 of us had different entrees and each one was very tasty. The servings were large and we all took home leftovers. The restaurant has a nice comfortable vibe. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town.
