Delicious food! Hubby had the fried pork and I had the chicken with yellow rice. The rice portion was so big, it had shredded chicken and peas in it, delicious! We had a side of fried yuca to share. Hubby had an IPA and I...had the sangria. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Service, food, atmosphere 10+.More

Service by Luis was excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant and the menu had a lot of good options. We chose a Cuban sandwich with fries and a Masitas de Puerco with yucca, black beans and rice. Both entrees were yummy, fresh and hot.

Being that we are in this area often (it’s close to the Mayo Clinic) we’ve seen Mambos many times and finally decided to try it for dinner. Located in a small strip mall off Beach it’s easily identified and accessible. Upon entering, we were greeted...by a man who was chewing on his fingernails while leaning behind the counter. We were also hit with an overwhelming potpourri of fried food smell mixed with Cuban spices. As they do have beer on tap along with bottle beer, wine and sangria, we opted for Yuengling on draft to start. The hubs and I decided on the same dinner item; BISTEC DE PECHUGA DE POLLO: grilled chicken breast with sautéed onion, white rice, black beans and I had yucca where he had tostones. Presentation was very nice and ample servings. How disappointed we were with the flavor and quality of the food! EVERYTHING needed salt; EVERYTHING. The chicken had absolutely no seasoning. The black beans, although cooked perfectly had absolutely no seasoning. The rice was extremely dry and flavorless. And about the only thing we did enjoy was the ice cold beer and our sweet waitress. She was very attentive and we did not blame her for the lackluster food quality. Will we be back? Well, in the area yes, but for a bite at Mambos? NO.More

Delicious, authentic Cuban food. Our waitress Anabella was absolutely wonderful. Empanadas, ham croquettes, and pork were very good. The congi/ moros were dry and could use some pork fat. Steak sandwich was ok. The Tiramisu was the best we’ve ever had… hands down.

I wish I could tell you that I loved the food, but sadly, we were ignored for 15 minutes after being seated and finally left. Servers at the bar chatting and only 3 tables in the restaurant. I’m not sure what happened, but I will...never return. I have a co-worker in another state that recommended this restaurant because it’s so good and he knows the owners and he says he comes here every time he comes home to Jax. I bugged my boyfriend about coming here for weeks and finally made him drive the 30 minutes in a storm to take me to get a Cuban sandwich. We were so excited to eat here. Disappointed is an understatement. I have never been just flat out ignored in a restaurant before.More

They don’t what a suruyo is. They don’t have mofongo. Their rice with chicken best part was the drumstick they complement it with. Prices are not reasonable. Oh and that Malta drink flat. I am glad they’re so far away. Good service. Poor taste.

You have to ask for it, but it is an excellent Cuban sandwich with a croquette! Server was attentive, friendly and patient with my southern attempts at Spanish. Atmosphere is comfortable, clean and had some great music. Will definitely be coming here a lot!

Delicious food, great service & very clean! We were traveling from TN and stopped in with our 4 kids who aren’t always so keen on trying new foods. Everyone in our family (even the kids) enjoyed their meals. Incredible beef empanadas, fried plantains and the...most delicious Ropa Vieja! SO glad we stopped here!!More

Service was ok other than the sign on the door and online said they open at 10:00 am. We got there about twenty after and waited until almost eleven before we got waited on. I had the Lechon asada and was totally awful and inedible....Wife had chicken dish which she ate only part of. After deliberating they refunded my meal. Do not recommend!More

We needed a break today and decided on Mambo’s Cuban Cafe for a change of pace. This will not be our last trip. The food was fabulous. Due to COVID, we had takeout. The smell alone was heavenly on the way home. And the food...did not disappoint. Servings were plentiful as well. Two out of three have enough left for dinner.....More

Located in a strip mall, this rather large restaurant is easily accessible from adjacent parking. No reservation required. The tables have no linen, bare without place mats. The decor and atmosphere are casual. The menu is varied with vegetarian, seafood, meat and poultry options. The...plantane snacks are very addictive. Service is friendly, less attentive. All the food looked and tasted good. A pleasant experience for casual dining.More

Whenever we visit Jacksonville we go to Mambos. The food is so flavorful! Cafe con leche! We’ve never had a bad meal or even mediocre. The food is just great and the restaurant is spotless!

They have THE BEST Churrasco a la Parilla ....I order it almost every time I eat here. Get it with the fried yuca! It is SO good. My husband loves their Lechon Asado. The food is always spot on!
