We were going to go to lunch in a different restaurant in this strip mall when we luckily parked right in front of Kazu! SO happy we did as we stopped looked at the Bento Box lunch special and went inside. We had a fabulously attentive young man as our waiter and we ordered the Bento Lunch special. It came with soup and a HUGE bento box with salmon, vegtables, california roll and a mini egg roll. We spent extra for the fried rice and were so glad we did, it was yummy. The meal was enough for dinner leftovers! It was the best meal we had had out in weeks! Thanks so much, we will be back!

We had takeout from them. When we got home we discovered that a portion of our order was missing and had to go back. The food itself I felt was very good and would have given them a four if they had given us a complete order initially.

Went here for lunch and we got bento boxes that include small protein portion, soup or salad, spring roll, california roll, and rice. Decent amount for the price. I have been to Japan and Hawaii, so my standards are high.
Kazu Spicy Beef Bento Box is spicy and flavorful. Beef is juicy and comes in a broth with peppers and onions. Tempura (fried) shrimp comes with 2 large shrimp, 1 sweet potato slice, 1 onion slice, and 1 other veggie. The batter was light, which was good. Tempura chicken or mixed chicken and shrimp are also available. Soup is good. Spring roll (veggie) was fine. Salad is basically lettuce and the ginger dressing tastes like it came out of a bottle. I wouldn't get salad again. California roll did not seem freshly made and avocado was a bit brown, which was disappointing. Everything in the bento box came out fresh and hot. They will bring out eel sauce if you want it. Friendly service. If I return, I would try sushi or other hot items.

We tried this place as it had really good reviews on Yelp and were very disappointed. We couldn't even finish all of the sushi it was inedible, not fresh and the color of the fish seemed off. My husband will usually eat stuff even if it isn’t good because he doesn’t like to waste food and he couldn’t finish it and we ended up throwing half of it out. We have been in Jacksonville for the past year (relocated from Philadelphia) and have yet to find good, fresh sushi. Also, it wasn't cheap! The specialty rolls cost about $14 each. Presentation was nice but even the spicey tuna which is hard to mess up looked and tasted like canned tuna/cat food. I rarely write bad reviews but this place did not even come close to meeting any standards for anyone that is used to good sushi.

Got there just before it got crowded. I thought it would take a long time to get our food. They were actually pretty quick. The sushi was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
Tip: go before 6 pm and happy hour is on drinks and food. Got a special roll at normal price and a regular roll for free.

Came here with my daughter for a quick lunch. She recently moved to the area and we’ve been looking for a new sushi spot. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious!

We were pleasantly surprised! I’ll be back!! This seems to be the home of the Sushi Burrito! The owner came out and talked with us for a bit. He seemed very interested in pleasing us.

Pictures with a good looking fish are fake. Fish is chip and quality is below average. Service is bad. Items descriptions in the menu are different from dishes on the table.

Went for late lunch last Tuesday, 5/14. Kimchi soup was way too salty, too much soy sauce. Used to be good.
The worst was the Kazu super roll. super old sushi that I could tell from the first bite. It is common knowledge that underhanded sushi makers(the Hispanic guy making the sushi is no sushi chef) hide old sushi in rolls. Even the california roll was terrible, stale rice and old avocado. I did not complain because the arrogant owner was there and he took offense last time I complained about his bad eel roll. Never going back.

Their food is ok. There's not single Japanese staff working at thie restaurant.

Quiet and seems authentic with good atmosphere. However, we got the udon noodle appetizer and I thought noodles were too thick. We tried the rice bowl with crispy chicken which had a good flavor but no vegetables. The ginger salad was good and the coconut curry shrimp soup was awesome! Not sure we will go back but definitely would order something different. I bet the sushi is good and that must be their speciality.

Went here last night. Service and food were both excellent. Spicy beef was very good and quite spicy, which is just the way I like it. Had good experiences here every time that I’ve gone.

Kazu Sushi is our go to place for sushi . The fish is always high quality and fresh. Sashimi is well prepared and the presentation is excellent. The service is efficient, even when crowded.

First timer....I order the shrimp teriyaki lunch special with fried rice. The rice was good but the shrimp were small and did not have hibachi grill taste. It was okay for the price I would not go back.
