Don't waste your time here. Sat at the bar never got acknowledged. Asked to be seated at a table and had to ask for a server and beer list. The whole staff just seemed uninterested in being there. Had to ask for ketchup for fries....The Lamb sliders is suppose to come with a curry aioli, had to ask for it. Fish and Chips were greasy. They forgot to dress the slaw, dry! The fries were great! This is a DDD/GUY FIERI stop. He would not reccomend this place today. Will not go back or recommend.More

The manager and owner of this restaurant are not only OK with customers wearing blackface, but also terminated a POC server who brought it to their attention. I used to go there every couple of weekends, but they will NEVER get any of my money...again!More

We went to the Deerside Lake location. Beautifully appointed. Very spacious. Very attentive staff. Nina was our excellent server. We had traditional Irish meals - potato soup, Bangers & Mash & Shepherd's Pie. For dessert the Sister's bundt cake. Everything was delicious. Mary Jane stopped...by our table to chat. Very pleasant and personable.More

This newish Culhane's started to hit their stride, then COVID. They are back and busy. New menu items and awesome chefs from stellar restaurants who claim to be thrilled to now be in the Culhane's kitchen. It is obvious that staff are treated like family....The food, vibe and everything else are exceptional. Congrats you lovely sisters!More

Simple meal with a nice pint served from an outstanding bartender that transported me back 10 years to a wonderful time and pub in County Cork. Thank you Audrey.

Made a note of this place after seeing it on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives a while back and so glad I did. I had the chance to order the Dingle Fish Pie and a Culhane’s salad with Blue Cheese. The Dingle Fish Pie was AMAZING....Hands down, my new favorite meal. It is hearty with cod, salmon, shrimp, peas, and potatoes in a tangy, creamy taste bud tingling Vodka Sauce and topped with melted cheddar cheese. Ooey, gooey, warm and comforting. And the fish and shrimp cooked perfectly and in a hearty portion. I will think about this over and over again until I get to go back. The salad was also very tasty with the star of that dish being the house made Blue Cheese dressing which was super tangy and rich… many places are more Mayo and this was definitely all about that delicious cheese. Yum.More

We had a grand time at Culhane’s thanks to Happy Hour and a waitress with an honest-to-goodness Irish brogue. The menu selection includes several of the classics: Beef Stew braised in Guinness, Corned Beef & Cabbage marinated in Guinness, and Shepherd’s pie with certified Angus...beef and—you guessed it, Guinness. Beats me what beef is doing in a shepherd’s pie: wouldn’t that be a Cowherd’s Pie? They do have lamb sliders, if you’re bound and determined to do lamb. Seafood includes Fish & Chips of course (they’ll blacken your cod if you like), Dingle Fish pie, and Shrimp & Grits (try getting that in an Irish pub in Boston!). All our grub was in the good/very good range. Portions are generous. Needless to say, you can get the Irish holy trinity here: Guinness stout, Smithwick’s ale and Harp lager. At Happy Hour, you can get any of five draught beers for 3 bucks. They regularly change which particular 5 beers you get to choose from, but since this might prod you to try something new, it could be adventure with a happy ending. (You can see a list of the five they’re doing currently as soon as you walk in the door). My buddy and I stuck with beers that were new to us, and it worked out fine. Jacksonville has more than it’s fair share of pubs and bars, but this one feels more authentic that some of the others we checked out. Plain to see why it’s popular. I give ‘em a tip o’ the hat: well done!More

Last night we had our Women's Food Alliance mixer at Culhane's Irish Pub - Southside. Because I eat a plant-based diet I originally wasn't going to go, but two of the owners Lynda and Mary Jane, also members of the WFA, said that they would...make something I could eat. These ladies weren't obligated to provide me with any special service, yet they went above and beyond to make a vegan shepherd's pie for me. Nestled under fluffy whipped potatoes, topped with a garnish of fresh microgreens, was a dish full of fresh vegetables that were beautifully seasoned and tender - including hearty mushrooms that are the perfect replacement for a meat-free option. I hope they keep this on the menu because whenever I am in the Southside area I will be back! The five sisters were gracious hosts for our event and, as someone who has never visited an Irish Pub, they set a high bar. With twelve years in the food industry under my belt, including countless restaurant reviews over the years, I was impressed.More
