Went here with some friends for brunch and it was great , a little pricey the reason for the 4 stars, but a nice atmosphere and meal just the same. They had a buffet that had lots of fruit, danishes, bacon , sausage, and plate pf eggs, you could also have a custom egg dish made right at the buffet... More

This salmon is incredible and the asparagus is so fresh! So happy I came here! The staff is super friendly and it was the perfect stop before I head to Napa!

Five of us gathered for a relaxing lunch on the terrace at the Basil Leaf. We all had variations of the salad entrees and found them fresh and tasty. The terrace overlooks Hartz Avenue, which can be busy, but is a great place for people watching. The menu is varied and although we all opted for salads, the pasta dishes... More

We have been to Basil Leaf before so we were expecting a good meal. However, of all the four dishes that we had only one enjoyed hers. My husband's capellini pomodoro was mediocre. My granddaughter's tortellini came with many things on it, and she had asked for it to be plain. I had the special: prawns on angel hair pasta.... More

Definitely not a Value restaurant. Imagine an Italian restaurant that was out of veal at 6:15PM on a Monday, really. We walked out. Lots better choices in the area for Italian; Piatti's-Danville, Incontro-Danville, Pasta Primivera-San Ramon (Great Value, food, & people), and Montecantini-Walnut Creek (family owned like forever, and a terrific value, excellent food, and nice people, lots of regulars).

We could not have been more pleased with the open and friendly greeting we received from both the server/manager and the busser. As it was a sparkling day we chose to sit outside at the street level. The two of us had a four-top which means that our table was right next to the porch (my eyes met the ledge... More

I love this place for lunch with the ladies. The soups are spectacular as are the salads. It is in downtown Danville so you can walk around and shop/window shop before or after. Staff is very attentive and friendly.

We go to Basil Leaf during the week when it is not too busy. The service is great, the house wine is perfect with Italian food. I had the Tortellini with mushrooms, prosciutto, peas and a wonderful cream sauce, so much, that I had half of it for lunch the next day and it was just as good. my favorite... More

My friends took me to this delightful restaurant for lunch! I selected the Cheese Tortellini with peas, mushroom and prosciutto in cream sauce and was wonderfully surprised with the perfect balance of all the ingredients! The atmosphere was charming and the outdoor dining area was wonderful!

We hadn't been to Basil Leaf in at least 8 years as we previously had a less than stellar experience. We went on a Friday night during "Danville Prime Time" and were able to get a great outdoor table. We were surprised that the place never filled up the whole time we were there. I loved the cubes of bread... More
