This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. We got a table outside in the courtyard. We ordered the olive appetizer...Yum! We also order the pork chop dinner and the lamb shank. Both were amazing! The pork chop was not dried out and the lamb fell of the bone. I ordered a pear martini which was also good. There... More

We love the happy hour here. Good food and even an occasional Rodney siting! I particularly like the cute patio in the evening.

Located in downtown Danville, a consistently high quality, interesting menu with a few old favorites. Elegant but family friendly, a nice patio option when the weather is right. One of many "pear" options in the area, but this is our favorite.

Danville had been recommended by a local for their good restaurants. The downtown area is quaint and inviting, although it seems like the type of place that could be really crowded on the weekends. I was pleasantly greeted, even as a single diner. I chose a table outdoors in their courtyard and found it to be very comfortable. The wait... More

This is my 3rd or 4th visit to the Peasant and the Pear....AND my 3rd or 4th "They out-did themselves again!!" When my daughters asked me where I would like to go for my 80th birthday celebration luncheon, my first thought was The Peasant and the Pear. I have visited several of the area "Pear" restaurants and have never been... More

I have had a dinner and a lunch here and I would go back again. The food is excellent and the wait staff totally attentive. The first time we sat out on the patio for lunch which was sheltered and lovely. The second visit for dinner we were inside. The portions of food are just right. I will go back... More

We've eaten at The Peasant and the Pear several times and always had a great experience. The food is fantastic - I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. One thing we really like is the atmosphere - it is a small-ish place and feels warm and comforting. Service has always been excellent.

Innovative and tasty food. Make reservations especially during popular times as this place fills up fast. Something for everyone with a varied menu and nicely sized portions. Menu is slanted more towards meat than fish. We could go hear every week ( if we still lived here).

My wife and I had a delightful luncheon at the Peasant and the Pear. Rodney Worth likes to characterize his food as peasant cuisine. I feel that it is fine dining and would call it Californian-Mediterranean. The lunch menu is extensive and includes starters, soups and salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, and other entrees. We opted for two “gourmet” sandwiches, the Oyster... More

Had a lovely dinner here. They have a beautiful outdoor area that twinkles at night with hanging lights. The food was delicious! We loved the fondue appetizer! We ordered the lamb shank and the pork chop. They were both very good! Highly recommend it for a romantic dinner.
