I got to the Apple Pie Cafe right before it closed for the afternoon so there was not much a selection left. I had the Mac & Cheese with a hot tea and for dessert I ordered a Apple Cider Doughnut. It does not sound...like a lot but the food was very rich and dense and was the perfect meal for a just enough snack for lunch. The Mac & Cheese was premade and was made with elbow macaroni with three different cheeses. Even though it had been premade, once you bit into the bowl and mix it around, you got to taste the richness of the three cheeses and the creaminess of it. Each bite was savory and delicious. The Apple Cider Donut was a nice sized deep fried doughnut that is poached in reduced apple cider and loaded with cinnamon sugar. It was dense, rich and sweet with the taste of the apple cider and loads of sugar. The students could not have been nicer to an Alumni who remembers the days when I had to do and act the same.More

The cafe offered a quick and tasty lunch menu. The food was good but the place was a bit crowded. Cheerful and cute place for a bite to eat.

Enjoy a break from touring the CIA to take a taste of what the students produce. Nice sandwiches, fantastic baked goods, and smiling students who are glad you are there to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The CIA has been on my bucket list for years, what a gorgeous campus! We stopped in around 12:30 and picked several pastries and drinks (several flavored ice teas are available, and bottled drinks as well) because we weren't feeling hungry enough for a salad...or sandwich. The students definitely got an A from us for beautiful, flavorful pastries that could have been in a high end restaurant. I felt the prices were fair (a large fresh baguette for, I think, $3.50). Ordered from a well-staffed counter where our choices were boxed and bagged, then we chose a table in the adjacent dining area. It was a bit noisy, but it was clear everyone was enjoying their cafe stop.More

I used to LOVE going to Apple Pie Bakery...but now it is like a fast food cafeteria. After you order your food, you find a table (many were dirty) and then you have to listen for someone to call out your number. We had to...get up 4 times looking for the person calling out our number because each item comes out separately. They do not give you any plates only a paper bag and paper cups and there is no water (like they used to have). The sandwiches are no longer made fresh, but are pre-made in plastic containers. It was even better many years ago when you had to wait on line to order. They used to bring the food to your table. I have been going there for over 18 years, but will not go again. Very sad.More

While visiting my daughter, I had a day to myself and was driving from the Loeb at Vassar to Hyde Park. Since I had been to the CIA several times in the past, I knew I could make a quick stop to get a delicious...lunch. It did not disappoint. There was a line but it moved quickly. I ordered soup (and bread to go) and sat in the seating area. Due to COVID there was no table service which did not bother me at all.More

Love stopping in for a quick snack when around the area. French Press coffee and truffle fries ALWAYS and then we pick a couple of other things each time. Always good, always fresh.

I graduated from the CIA and worked in the old APBC. Ever since the renovation it has gone down hill. My co worker got a cruller. She tried to dab the oil off and then decided to squeeze it and I couldn’t believe how much...oil was in it. Usually that means your fryer oil isn’t hot enough but that’s besides the point. Doesn’t the chefs check everything before it goes out? I guess not those.... the menu is so limited. They have options on the screen and then they “don’t have it today.” At the old APBC they always had 3 different types of cookies. Now they have none. I don’t understand why they couldn’t renovate but keep what was good the same. It’s really sad.More

Put the diet on hold for a day and come and enjoy some delicious, mouth watering treats. Caution, you may have a hard time deciding once you take a look and you may very well head back for more for the trip home :)

So glad the take-out area and sit down restaurant have been separated! After lunch in one of the other restaurants on campus, we stopped in the bakery to pick up some multigrain bread to take home. No line, fast service! Highly recommend.

Since the Apple Pie Bakery was closed and remodeled last year it is more efficient. It is very popular with students and staff and wait time could get quite long. When they remodeled they created separate lines for take out and dining in. This was...effective in cutting down the wait for a table. Not thrilled with the new decor. The previous feel was more cozy. Not a deal breaker; just a minor factor. The food is good as always.More

My family and I had lunch at Apple Pie today and it was delightful. All of our meals were excellent. The restaurant was spotless and the service friendly and efficient. Not sure why this is listed as a dessert restaurant on Trip Advisor - we...ate lunch. They offered soups, salads, sandwiches and also beautiful desserts.More
