No words could do this place justice! They offer so much from dining indoors or outside in the terrace. They have tours of the inside where Confederate soldiers occupied the Garrett where the only civilian Jennie Wade was killed from a stray bullet. Also offered are evening ghost walk tours, a mourning theatre tour in the basement, and other ghostly... More

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Gettysburg!!! I love the ambiance, the food, the people. Everything!! The service is on point, our waitress was such a sweetheart. She was fast with everything, always had a big smile and made sure we were okay. The food was out of this world. The pickled watermelon rind was delicious. The... More

I was please to sit at such historic place. The atmosphere. is filled with historical artifacts and antiques. My steak taste like it came off a grill. The sweet potato cassorole is quite simply delicious. The spoon bread simply out of this world.

When visiting Gettysburg we ate at the Farnsworth House several times. The food was very good and the service was great. During breakfast one morning our waitress began singing a variety of songs which was both entertaining and fun as we would sing along with her. The atmosphere is great and the employees are all friendly .

Interesting food. Really good bartender who makes excellent drinks. Food is faux Amish (I think? Apologies if there is actually someone Amish in the kitchen!) Slippy chicken pot pie seemed a hit at our table. Meaty sandwiches looked good too. Salad was kind of old school and tired... Did I mention the drinks where great? :-)

this is a great place for dinner. the meals are based on things that were cooked in the 1800's. It is very good, the decor is lovely. the only compliant is the AC was extremely cold, but if you ask they will cover the vent by your table with a tray.

We were looking for a nice local place on our first trip to Gettysburg and my wife thought Farnsworth House looked interesting. We ate in the indoor restaurant so none of my comments would help you if you wanted to eat outdoors or in the tavern area. The dining room is small but you are not sitting on top of... More

Stopped for lunch and ate in covered patio. Nice good food. The prices were reasonable for the tourist area. This Historic tavern has been here a long time and we have been visiting for 10+ years and is one place we always stop in.

We had dinner here at the end of June. The outdoor setting area was beautiful, surrounded by Civil War era buildings, and huge trees. My husband had the roast beef and I had the ham sandwich. The sandwiches were huge! We also had some of the best French onion soup I have had in years. The server was dressed in... More
