The food was ok. My daughter loved her chicken salad sandwich but I was not impressed with the beer battered shrimp. Not much flavor. My 10 year old had the fish and fries it was greasy and tasted geasy. The workers did not act happy, they were kind to the patrons but I did not feel their heart was in it.

O’Rorke’s is a Pub that’s a bit Irish and a bit American with a very substantial menu, offering appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, all sorts of sandwiches, some homemade Irish favorites, and wonderful looking beef, chicken and seafood dishes with interesting sides. Everything was so tempting that we wished we could stay for dinner. My daughter and I split a “Cream of Crab soup” which was pretty good. I had the “Crab Cake Salad” with homemade “Old Bay Ranch Dressing,” topped with a broiled crab cake, and she had the “Sesame Chicken Salad” topped with marinated chicken, mandarin oranges and peanuts. The salad greens did not come out of a bag (my pet peeve) but were crisp and fresh. We had no room for dessert, but the “Irish Cream Bash” sure looked good!

Places to eat were slim but this had a menu with many choices. Our lunch a chicken wrap and chicken tender sandwich were as common as they sound. My pet peeve, warm at best fries...I hate cold fries. Why can't the average cook serve Hot fries...why because we're lazy and if there's fries sitting under the heat lamp that's what we're going to use. So my review this is an average eating establishment. It seems to be a better deal to come at night, drink beer and share appetizers. Always Chefnfly

Went for a Friday happy hour dinner for two, walked into the restaurant and we were not greeted by anyone. We had to track down a worker to find out where we go to be seated. Was directed in an unfriendly manner to the check-in destination. On the bright side we were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress did not introduce herself or give any drink or food recommendations. We put in a drink order, and a food order shortly after that. Our food came too quickly, as in there is no way it could have been freshly prepared. You could tell from looking at the food that it had been sitting for a while. We ordered a chicken wrap, that was so dry we had to ask for extra dressing just to make it edible. It was served with french fries that were absolutely disgusting. They were handsdown the worst french fries we have ever been served. They were soggy, not cooked, non-seasoned, and overall not appetizing. I can't believe a restaurant would serve french fries of this quality. We then ordered the bangers and mash, which is sausages with mash potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant mashed potatoes. They didn't taste remotely close to freshly cooked mashed potatoes. The gravy was jarred grocery store gravy. I can't believe that this is how they service a signature dish. This is during the middle of global pandemic, and when I looked in the kitchen while walking around the restaurant you could see that not a single cook was wearing a mask. Just cooking and breathing all over the patrons food. This restaurant clearly does not care about the safety of their customers or the sanitization of their restaurant. The restaurant allowed larger groups of customers to be very rowdy and allows smoking and seated very closely to other tables which makes it hard to enjoy your meal. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. Between an unpleasant staff, horrific food, and unsanitary handling of the food, if I could give this place a negative rating I would. I regret spending my money at this place and would rather starve than eat at this establishment again.

It has been ages since I was this disappointed in a restaurant. The list of issues is long, here goes: We were seated at the front of the restaurant and there was a smell like bathroom air freshener that was strong and unpleasant. Our server, Katie, when asked about a certain beer they offered, described the beer by saying “it is a draft beer” We ordered an appetizer to be served along with the meal, it arrived after we were done eating. A beer one of us ordered was undrinkable, it was flat. When we told our server we didn’t want it and didn’t want to pay for it we were told that if it was poured we had to pay. One of our party ordered the shepherds pie. It was about the size of a crock of soup. Hardly what we expected given the $16 price tag. I will say the salads were not bad and the lava cake was very good. There are many eateries in the area, when you visit Gettysburg you might consider dining elsewhere.

Visited this establishment after touring the battlefield on the first weekend that Adams County was in the green phase and they were not following the COVID guidelines at all. Besides that, they allowed people to smoke on the crowded patio. First of all, there was a sign posted on the front door that said "Mask use at you own discression". Apparently, the staff chose not to, because NO ONE in the place had a mask on. They were also seating all tables in the place, no social distancing. When we got our silverware it was dirty and my cloth napkin was also dirty. To top it all off, there was a group of people at the table next to us that got into a very loud argument and we're shouting F-bombs nonstop. This continued for 20 minutes and no one said a word. The only thing any of the staff said was " You know you can smoke right here? You don't have to go away from the tables." That commenced a whole bunch of smoking. Oh and the food was not all that great either. The glass of beer one person at our table got was warm. The other food was not good at all, and I don't think anyone are their entire meal. I would not recommend this place for families or anyone who likes good food.

You won’t be disappointed if you dine at O’Rorke’s eatery in Gettysburg. It’s a traditional Irish eatery with all the expected Irish fare. However, the menu is very extensive so any taste preference would be fine with this menu. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly. Our menu choices were processed and presented in a very timely fashion. Everything tasted great. In addition, if weather permits, outdoor dining is an option. We will definitely return to O’Rorke’s!

We went in about four o'clock on a Friday and pretty much just beat the rush. We were seated immediately and when we left about an hour later we walked into a solid wall of people waiting. One person had the chili shrimp wrap and one had the meatloaf. Both meals were very good. The coleslaw is served in a rather unusual way, kind of piled up shreds with dressing, but it had a great flavor and wasn't vinegary. Even as the restaurant filled up our server continued to check on us regularly-unfortunately, I can't recall her name. It was a nice experience from start to finish

Picked this place since we travelled with our goldendoodle. He was welcomed on the outside patio and they had a dog bowl with water ready for him! The food was amazing. We started with pretzel sticks and beer cheese - they were warm and perfectly salted and the beer cheese was tasty. My husband and I both chose the Beef Stew in a bread bowl with a side of mashed potatoes, which I put on top of the stew! It was some of the best I’ve had - we almost went back the next night! They also have live music outside, which they were setting up when we left. Service and food were great, and they were so welcoming to our dog!

O'Rorke's has really gone down the crapper with their food. I had their salad topped with steak slices. The steak was so chewy that it took me 10 minutes to eat one bite. It's pretty dismal when the salad was better than the steak. There is also something amiss with their french fries. The fries I had were crispy at first, and then after 15 minutes, the fries turned into cold soggy flavorless pieces of potato with a hint of freezer burn. McDonalds fries are better than this. What a shame! This place used to be good.

We were quite hungry and since many restaurants in Gettysburg were closed the night we were there we were very happy to get a table here without waiting. Our server was very pleasant and the honored our request to sit at a table outside in the shade. The veggie burger ws very good as were the salads. We all enjoyed our meal and would return.

The weather was toldus that they were short-staffed and would do the best she could to serve us quickly (and she did). We ordered two meals: My wife ordered the Rachel (grilled , Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing and sauerkraut served on grilled rye). She very much enjoyed her sandwich that came with corn fritters and chips. I ordered the Pork BBQ (pulled pork topped with lettuce and tomato and served on a Kaiser roll). My side dishes were Cole Slaw and chips. While the pork was very good, there was so much meat and juice that it saturated the bread and was difficult to eat. I also enjoy the Cole slaw. While the chips were excellent,If you're on high blood pressure medication, don't order it because it's a bit salty.

Amazing food and a great selection even with a “shortened menu” due to COVID. They were very helpful in accommodating me with food allergies. I joked that I was so thirsty I needed a pitcher of sweet tea, and the waitress brought me one. Fast service and our waitress was very personable!

We are traveling with our dog and they were marked as dog friendly. We were seated right away on the patio and almost immediately the hostess took our drink order and asked to pet our dog ( who is a therapy dog) so both became fast friends. With our drinks came a bowl of ice water for the pup, they also had dog chicken and hamburger offerings. The food came quickly and was delicious. Will definitely return on future visits.

I have been going to Gettysburg for over 50 years but never have been in O’Rorke’s Eatery. I’ve always made it a point to stay away from the tourist eating establishments. My last trip in I decided to give O’Rorke’s a try and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and our meals were very well prepared. I had a grilled chicken with crab sauce with Sweet Potato fries and my wife had a great looking Rueben Sandwich and a few glasses of wine from their full stocked bar. We will definitely be back again.
