Food is pricy and mediocre, waiter rude beyond belief. Told me I didn't know what medium was after serving me a steak still cold in the middle. He then laughed after giving me the check with a 23% tip built into a $500 bill because...we were 6 people. 20 years in Philadelphia and this was the worst experience by far. Anyplace is betterMore

Great service, good food that would have been excellent were it not for the steak being a bit on the cool side by the time it arrived. Sides were pipping hot and enough for two people.

Food was tepid, borderline cold. Table of three, all order fillet, 2 medium, 1 medium rare. It was self evident that the medium rare had been prepared first and left to sit while the medium steaks were completed, resulting in a cold medium rare steak...with cold Bernaise sauce, and tepid sides. And yes, I did raise the issue, the response was we’ll comp wine. Save the money, eat somewhere else, your wallet and pallet will thank you.More

This restaurant seemed like the perfect finale for our fabulous our first visit to Philadelphia. The food ended up being “fine”, but certainly overpriced. We ordered two different steaks, both medium rare. One came rare and one came medium. What? The server didn’t come near...our table until we were almost finished eating so we had no opportunity to have them rectify the situation. At least the corn bread was tasty, but we left feeling dissatisfied.More

Delicious food! Very expensive. Great service and attention from waiters. We went with our children; not the best “children friendly menu”.

Are you kidding me, What an amazing brunch! Flavor, portions, style, ambiance, and service. This was one of the better places to come to in Phily for a meal not to miss. The farm to table is true and evident in each meal. When we...sat down, our server was very personable, and we asked some questions on the menu. First, we found out they have their own Butcher on staff, and the English muffins were homemade. Delicious jams and butter for the homemade English muffins. We went with our waiters' brunch suggestions, and they were each amazing! (forgot to photograph) bit trust me on this one. they were delicious! We went with the Short Rib hash, the farm vegetable frittata and the crab omelet, all sizable and delicious! We could not resist adding the pancakes as they were highly recommended. Wow, were they good and fresh! Cool art around the room and nice relaxing music in the background playing. A mist try in philly.More

We were staying at the Logan and went here for breakfast in the hotel. Since it was a Saturday, only the brunch menu was available, and it was filled with high-priced items rather than standard breakfast fare. I ordered off it the lemon pancakes with...blueberry compote, which were ok. My wife asked if she could get the steel cut oatmeal from the breakfast menu and was told she could, but it was awful. The coffee was also terrible and quite expensive. So with a side of fruit, that was a $45 meal, and not a very good way to start the day.More

Excellent food (pork chop and chicken). The atmosphere was very nice with a nice decoration (maybe the music was a bit loud, but it was still OK). The service was a bit slow and not very professional. All in all it was a good experience....Especially the food.More

My husband and I were in Philadelphia for our anniversary in April 2023. We made reservations to have dinner at Urban Farmer before we were attending a concert. I had mentioned on the reservation that this was for an anniversary. When we arrived we were...greeted with well wishes on our anniversary. We thought that was sweet. We eat had a wonderful meal and dessert. We would definitely eat here again!More

I was disappointed in our visit overall. We were celebrating a birthday and I wanted to take my dinner companion to great steak place in Philly. Urban Farmer had many great reviews so I figured this was a no-brainer, but the food quality was mixed...and consequently the meal seemed overpriced and over-hyped. [Note to self, always look for Craig LaBan's reviews first] Our server, Drew, was fantastic and perfectly attentive. Our specialty drinks were tasty, and they promptly brought some bread to munch on after we ordered but it was corn bread (???). A nice, dense Italian loaf would have been better. The good news, my Creekstone Natural Prime, Kansas, Corn-Finished Filet (cooked medium) was delicious though lonely as the sole item on the dinner plate. My side dish, Twice Baked Fingerling Potato Tart, made for a nice presentation! It was a little bland but nothing that couldn't be remedied with salt and pepper. My dinner companion didn't have the same experience with his meal. The one thing we'd come to this restaurant for, a great steak for him, was a great disappointment. My companion had the Bone-In, 30-Day, Ribeye and was very unhappy with it. First, I noticed that he wasn't so much cutting into it as he was sawing into it. He said it lacked flavor so I tried it and I had to agree. He asked for medium well, and the doneness varied from medium rare to closer to well-done, depending on the part of the cut. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the meal so we didn't stick around for dessert. Side note: I know its name is "Urban Farmer" but the gingham shirts and jeans that the servers wear seem hokey. At these prices I think black collared shirts and black pants look would be more appropriate.More

Overall, we had a great dinner. We started with octopus and pork belly appetizers, had dry-aged NY strip and the Barramundi special. We completed the meal with the hot apple cobbler and the signature butterscotch dessert. The appetizers were fantastic. Both cooked and seasoned well...and was visually appealing. My steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Unfortunately, the sides that we had fell a little short for the price point. They were all under seasoned. We decided to try two desserts and they both were great. And we definitely finished the meal on a high note. Service and ambiance were exceptional and we enjoyed the overall vibe of our meal. If the food would have been better seasoned, it would have been an easy 5-star review.More
