There is nowhere better in Philly for authentic Mexican. The menu has so many choices suited for both take out and dine in. Its relaxed and fun. So many good times here with friends! My absolute go-to takeout. I went here for years and didn't try everything I wanted to! Never tried anything I wouldn't eagerly have again! Perfect, delicious.

As it was fathers day my son took me to this place that I was wanting to try for a few years. What a great surprise the food was delicious and tasted like you were in a Mexican home not a restaurant. Many so called Mexican restaurant's are just novelty places which serve up more drinks than good food but this place was like someone's mom was in the kitchen. Treat yourself to authentic Mexican food you will be happy you did. The staff was very sweet and attending.

Great tacos with authentic Mexican flavors, and zesty salsas. Philadelphia has lots of great food options, but this hidden gem is truly superb. Not the best known taco joint, but perhaps the best.

My daughter is going to Temple and we were down in Philly visiting. I was looking for something different for breakfast on Saturday that was fairly close to campus. I could not have chosen better, the food was plentiful and very good.

ok, so not many people wander into this neighborhood. But plan on it. The pork tacos with pineapple are great. There are only a few tables so if there are more than two of you, you might have to wait. Order at the counter. If you are a big eater, you will need three tacos or more. Lots of other choices though. Kind of overwhelming.

Having previously lived in California, I had been spoiled to great Mexican food. I quickly found it to be the unicorn of foods in the Philadelphia area as most places were "Tex Mex" or some sort of fusion dining. I had the fortune of stumbling upon Taco Reindo in my own neighborhood. It is a small location, so more often than not (as I live nearby) we opt for takeout, but the food is EXCELLENT. The food - even down to the rice - makes me drool just thinking abou it. Taco Reindo got me through my first pregnancy... which is probably why my son ASKS for food from there fairly often. I am borderline addicted to their Chile Relleno combo; and really think I will be stopping by in the near future to get my fix. Great. Authentic. Food.

We were introduced to this great little place by our Philadelphia daughter, who'd discovered it when she worked in the area a few years ago. The food was great! We ordered sopes de carne asada, meat, black beans, and cotijo cheese on small thick tortillas; a tamal rojo, with chicken and a relatively mild red sauce; tostadas de chorizo; and tacos de chile poblano; we also ordered rice and beans. Everything was well-seasoned, with the "heat" level never so great as to mask the complexity of the flavors (although the accompanying red sauce was pure fire!). We sat on the back patio, since the restaurant itself was packed (on a Sunday night!). The only drawback is that they do not serve beer, but they encourage patrons to bring their own, and the food paired well with the pale ale that we brought along. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I'll surely try to get back for breakfast since they have chilaquiles on the menu, something that one rarely finds in less authentic restaurants. Highly recommended.

A little hole in the wall establishment that serves up tasty and authentic tacos (corn tortillas, grilled meat/veggies, cilantro and lime--none of the fake American sour cream and cheese crap that's both unhealthy and unMexican) t'd other Mexican street food such as grilled corn on the cob served with mayonnaise, white cheese, spices and lime. It's divine! And cheap. A full meal here will set you back under $10 . And, if you're never tried grilled cactus (nopal), you must. Many of the taco orders feature it and it's delicious. Buen provecho!

When I was in school at Temple, I went to Taco Riendo regularly. Great tacos, tostadas, and horchata, among other things. The patio is also nice during the spring/summer.

The best place in Philadelphia that we've been to thus far for authentic Mexican tacos. From the handmade corn tortillas to the cooking method of the meat to the salsas and little bit of lime to squeeze over the tacos, you cannot go wrong for $3/taco. My favorite is the chicken and I love the sopes too. My h my husband loves the Azteca which is steak and nopal (cactus) with cheese and he is over the moon with the roasted corn--it's just like what we've bought on the streets of Mexico: roasted, smeared in mayonnaise and cotija cheese and spices. Top it off with a typical Mexico soda or horchata and it's a great, cheap, meal. Buen provecho!

We come here once every two weeks, the food is prepared fresh and always outstanding. The menu has something for every mood and every craving. Highly recommend getting there in time for breakfast (up to 3pm I think), the Chorizo/Cheese and Potato tacos are perfect.

This is an off-the-beaten-path Mexican place. You order and pay at the counter, but the food is brought directly to your table. The ambiance is festive and feels authentic. During our last visit, we had the Enchiladas de Mole con Pollo and the Burrito de Enchilada. Both were delicious, especially if you like mole sauce, but the Burrito de Enchilada was the clear winner between the two. We've also had the tacos, which are delicious but a bit small. A few tips: 1. The restaurant is cash only. You can eat for $10/person, but bring $15 if you don't want to feel limited. 2. Taco Riendo is BYO. 3. Chips & salsa are not complimentary.

I was visiting a friend in Philly and he took me to his neighborhood taco restaurant. This is an incredible find. I literally thought I was in Mexico. The food is incredibly authentic and the fish tacos are to die for. Definitely try the made-to-order guacamole. Everything about this delightful restaurant is authentic. You will not be disappointed. It'll save you a trip to Mexico to eat the same thing. Definitely check this place out!
