In town for business and had the opportunity to have dinner with an old college friend. It was delightful; company, food, atmosphere, service, and price. I rated the restaurant as average because it was as expected. Nothing stood out, but I also didn't have any complaints. I had reservations but they were not required and/or needed. We lingered over dinner... More

A large group of friends (8 of us) had dinner at LaScala's the night before the half marathon this past November. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and felt service was good. The food was just ok and the cost was high. I do not think it was worth what we paid and would not return.

My family of three stopped by for a quick bite while sightseeing nearby before Xmas. I was sick and longed for soup and garlic and hot tea. The cup of Italian Wedding was very good and the sautéed zucchini that our server offered to have the kitchen make up was wonderfully garlicky and cooked just right. I couldn't have been... More

I'm lucky enough to work one block from LaScala's so it's a frequent lunch destination when we venture outside our building. I've probably had at least 80% of the items on their lunch menu and while some may not be favorites because of an ingredient here or there, everything is freshly made and the variety means I always have at... Glad we stopped for dinner. Great dinner, dessert and excellent service. We had no reservation and were blessed to get in straight away.

I had the lobster ravioli and it was very good. No surprises, but consistently good. The service could have been better. Waiter spent way too long chit chatting when he was supposed to be opening the wine for example. And very long periods of time when he was nowhere to be found. It was a full 45 minutes before we... My wife & I hosted a Party for 'out of town' guests at LaScala's Restaurant! My own reservations for this venue were ended the moment I entered the Party Room and met the guests! The staff was EXCELLENT … treating us well … all night long! The food was plentiful and skillfully presented … homestyle !!! No one remembers the... More

After a long afternoon of walking the historic center of Philadelphia, we decided on this restaurant for dinner as it is just 1 1/2 blocks from our hotel. We were quickly seated at the last remaining (back) table. Good variety on the menu with prices similar to what we pay at home (except this is USD vs CAD). Waiter sort... More
