My husband and I were in Philly for the weekend and we were wandering around trying to find a place to eat. Stumbled onto this restaurant Friday night and our dinner was amazing! We had the baked tomato caprese and risotto balls (3) with a marinara sauce for an appetizer and we shared the Veal Saltimbocca. The caprese was amazing.... More

My kids and I happened in here on a Friday night. I probably should have been suspicious that we could get a table with ease. The positives - the bread was good, the waiter was fine (albeit slow), and the location was great. The food was just meh. Nothing exciting and in some cases disappointing. The "grilled artichoke" appetizer wasn't... More

Was walking back from Jeweler's Row and the humidity was getting to us. So we stopped in on a whim. Best move we made that day. Hubby loved the sangria -- and he's really picky about them. We had the calamari to start -- the portion was huge. That can be lunch all by itself. We split a small pizza... More

We were just looking for a place to get out of the rain and happened upon this gem! For starters, they had $5.00 sangria or mimosas. The food was not overpriced, and the food was excellent. The portions are large, so plan on taking home food for your next meal (a great perk). The beet and goat salad was my... More

La Scala was a recommended by one of the guards at Constitution Hall. Good Italian food at a decent price, less than two blocks from Independence Mall and with an average $15 plate, this restaurant was exactly what we needed mid-tour. Note: the plates are big. We split an appetizer, entre, and salad AND STILL HAD FOOD TO BRING BACK.... More

What a gem. Not too crowded or loud. Food was excellent and portions huge. Service was attentive considering our large group and our waiter didn't make a face when it came to splitting the checks. In fact, he suggested it. Very authentic and the classic pictures give you a nice flavor of the old world. You don't expect such good... More

My mother always says that it doesn't take ALL DAY to tell the truth! With that being said.... La Scala's has the best salads in the Art Museum area. There is always a line to prove my theory! The pizza is delicious, the wings are great....the EGGPLANT is AWESOME! That will be all.

This was our second time there and it was excellent again. The signature salad is delicious. My daughter had the fusilli with a tomato cream sauce and seafood and she loved it. I had the veal and my husband a steak and we were very pleased. We had reservations but got there earlier and they sat us no problem. Would... More
