Very little to say other than this was some of the best sushi I have had in recent months. It really salvaged a not so great food experience in Philly on our last trip. We had a lot of different rolls and the majority was...really fresh and tasty.More

Since I treasure quality Japanese cuisine, I aim to go to Bleu Sushi when I am in Philadelphia. I go without reservations. I arrived around 9:30 pm on a Friday to be told that they would close at 10:15 pm. I told them that I...would eat quickly to meet that deadline. I arrived around 7:45 pm on a Saturday to be asked to return at 8:30 pm when they are less busy. I asked to eat right away at the sushi bar. I ordered miso soup, soft shell crab, grilled hamachi yellowtail kama, and sashimi bleu on both nights. I liked each item. I'll aim to return when I am in Philadelphia.More

Very efficient and nice service. The place has outside seating places and the food is well made. Very good! We order take out because the restaurant was full booked.

Visited this restaurant while in Philly on holiday. Highly recommend the 8 pc combo. Food was amazing, staff was fantastic and the place has a great vibe. Manager Fandi really goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. Highly recommend.

The sushi was okay. We order 4 of their must have and signature rolls. One was really good. The other three were okay. My husband liked his gyoza. More importantly: NOT COVID SAFE. When I walked in I appreciated the plastic dividers hanging from the...ceiling separating tables of 2 or 4. There are 3 plastic dividers creating 4 sections on one side of the restaurant. Our section had 2 tables of 2. We were literally the only couple on this side. Halfway through our dinner they sat a couple next to us in our section. I would not have minded if it was busy but there was no one seated in any of the other sections next to us. We were the only couple on this side of the restaurant. They could have easily sat this couple on the other side of our plastic divider. If our tables were 6 feet apart I wouldn’t have minded so much. But the tables were not even 2feet apart. I complained to the manager but he didn’t seem to care. So I just wonder what other guidelines he doesn’t follow. I do not recommend eating here. There are covid safer restaurants and better sushi elsewhere.More

Fantastic lunch. Signature rolls were terrific (JFK and Broad Street), as was the steamed Gyoza. Pleasant outside seating is dog friendly, and is protected on the top and three sides from weather. The inside is very stylish!

Lots of interesting sushi rolls, and also the classic rolls, everything was delicious, especially the kimchi fries for something different. Service was quick and friendly, and very COVID complaint. My kids, husband and I loved it, and highly recommend!

Large menu with many different rolls, sushi and dinners. Try one of the hot entrees as it comes out of the kitchen sizzling and you have to give it time to cool before eating. Just sit there and inhale the aromas. BYO so enjoy a...glass of your own wine. Dinners come with soup or salad with ginger dressing. They also offer a small, complimentary dish of ice cream.More

A warm, October Sunday evening dinner at what I consider a top, and overlooked Japanese restaurant that is a neighborhood gem. The greeter recognized us from previous dines and seated us promptly; water and menus came and we spent some time looking at the menu....Very extensive with numerous sushi rolls plus sushi and sashimi. We tend to order entrees and opted for the filet mignon teriyaki and a red snapper teriyaki. Both are accompanied by either soup or salad and white rice. They came out sizzling and after letting them cool proceeded to eat them. Fantastic taste. A few others were dining when we came in and a few more came in before we left. It is recommended that you make a reservation as the restaurant is small. They do a large take out business as well as deliver. We received a complimentary dish of ice cream. BYO. Parking is on the street at meters.More

We order sushi from Bleu Sushi once a month to our TripAdvisor office in NJ. It is, without a doubt, our favorite sushi restaurant. The rolls are perfectly made, the spring rolls are delicious, and the service is outstanding. Hendra, the owner, is extremely accommodating...and personable. He makes the experience that much better! The Villanova and Locust rolls are among the office favorites here. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the Philly area!More

The selection of sushi and rolls was good and we sampled a few. All were very good. The place allows you to bring your own bottle with no corking fee so feel free to bring your favorite sake. My only negative is that the place...has no air conditioning and gets very hot and humid with a few small fans running which don’t provide much airflow.More

At Bleu Sushi great food and nice staff, BUT since the last visit on August 2019,they started to charge the 20% fee on any payment made with a groupon. We find this UNFAIR.

Sunday night and you need a reservation. There is an extensive sushi menu, we tend to favor dinners. They come with a ginger salad and misu soup as well as your choice of protein. BYO . The owner was present and we had a nice...conversation as he had just returned from shopping for some garden equipment to water the outside flowers. He is from Indonesia and ads some Indonesian dishes to the menu.More

We went to see a play at the Walnut Street Theatre and stopped in for dinner before the show. It was about 5:30pm. By the time we left (around 7pm) the place was hopping. Very tasty sushi...both cold and hot. Presentation was a bit different...with pieces of veggie sticking out of each roll piece. They were very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Met both the manager and the owner and had a really nice conversation. This restaurant gets a lot of theatre-goers. They also have a sushi roll named after the Walnut Street Theatre. We left feeling we had a very pleasurable experience and would definitely go back. BYOB...next time will bring.More
