Let me start off thef ood quality. Food was absolutely amazing, could not have been better. Pizza parma for app and rabbit haead ragu pasta. Now i will get to the part that made we want to scream. We were seated, waitress came over, we knew we wanted a specific appa and ordered it. She would not put it in... More

One of Marc Vetri's creations, you won't go wrong at Osteria. Large, open restaurant that is warm, inviting and full of energy (and kind of loud). Staff is spot-on and knowledgeable. The food is creative and the menu has touches of the infamous Vetri (linguine with white truffles, gnocchi in brown butter) menu, but stands on its own as well.... More

Typical city $75 a head pricing with bottle of wine, tip, tax etc. Innovative roast vegie antipasto presentation to share for a starters. Beautiful roasted pork on ever changing menu. Chicken excellent and rib eye for two was huge. Bustling and active with high noise level that goes with it.

My husband has eaten at ~50 pizzerias in the city and Osteria ties for his (and my) favorite. The charcuterie boards are crowd pleasers as appetizers and the wine list is extensive. This is also somewhat close to where we live although it's not right in the heart of the city and patrons may not feel good about self parking... More

This is a superb restaurant. Waitstaff is extremely knowledgeable. The food choices are best made after consultation with the waitstaff (they know their food). I love the idea of half portions of pasta, this saves room to taste more. The roasted vegetables was an excellent choice. We usually have them. Tonite my husband had a pasta with chicken livers, it... More

I have only experienced two higher-end Philadelphia restaurants where the food was so good I actually had to close my eyes during every bite - Zahav, and now Osetria. It was pricey, but for a special event (and to experience that level of culinary excellence) it was worth it. The service was excellent, despite the place being packed. The atmosphere... More

My husband took me to dinner for my birthday. The grilled octopus was fabulous. I considered getting the pork, a signature dish, but opted for a fish that was served with kale. Very nice flavors - I enjoyed every bite. I have to follow a gluten free diet and they are very accomodating. Brought me a wonderful gelato with a... More

Amazing food and service. Couldn't decide between pasta dishes and our server recommended that we order 1/2 portions (who knew you could do that?). The pasta was fabulous - especially the dish w/ liver (glad I read the other reviews). Creme brulee was one of the best I've ever had (and I try it everywhere I go). Nice decor, great... More

A place to taste great food, that's more culinary inventive, by adding a twist to familiar food. Everything I ate was amazing. That is the only word to describe it. I ate here for a group dinner so there were different coarse and everything was great. Standouts were the polpo pizza, the mushroom ravioli's, and the vanilla custard crepelles! Yum!

Located in North Philly, so driving is a must if you are in Center City. Nice decor, nice crowd. Food was average. Had the poussin which was dry, and came with a weird sausage mash. Also portion size was tiny - another half poussin was required.

"The second restaurant to join the Vetri Family fold, Osteria, as its name would imply, draws its inspiration from traditional osterias found in Northern Italy, and is the realization of a dream Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri and Jeff Michaud had while standing amongst the grapes of the Ca'Marcanda vineyards in Tuscany. Since opening in 2007, Osteria has become one of the country's most critically acclaimed Italian restaurants, receiving a 3-out-of-4 bell review from the Philadelphia Inquirer, and earning Chef Michaud the 2010 James Beard Foundation Award for ""Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic"" for his work helming the kitchen."
