We visited La Fourno for dinner - on first entry we were a bit disappointed - the restaurant at first glance looks a bit small and "fast food" like. However, after entry the staff led us to a table in the back which actually had quite a good atmosphere. There was a standard menu as well as a list of... More

We never go to south street, because we felt only for young people. Well wrong we were, it is so worthwhile heading down to south street to have a superb meal. We went with our friends this evening and we all live in center city. We eat in NYC and now have found an Italian restaurant to compare to the... More

We went on Sunday evening, for dinner. The meals were delicious. They started with warm garlic bread with dipping sauce with olive oil and seasoning. The salads were freshly made and the meals were good portions and tasty. We split the dessert, which was fabulous! The only bad thing was that the rest rooms were upstairs on the second floor.

La Fourno is the only nice place on South Street. Its like a haven amongst the crowds outside. South Street is pretty rough and grimy. The service was lovely but the food was just average.

Had a hard time finding a reservation for Valentine's Day but based on the reviews here selected La Fuorno. Great choice. Delicious Italian food (wife is Italian), nice ambience, superb staff from the host to the waiter (to the owner?)), and reasonable prices.

South Philadelphia is the home of the mummers and on new years day, the streets are packed with revelers in this area of the city. We had seen a movie and then decided time for a piece of pizza and so we went with friends here. The pizza is of the thin crust variety and we had a Pesto pizza... More

We had a great dinner at La Fourno a few weeks ago. Atmosphere was wonderful upstairs, our waiter was on point with everything we needed, and of course the food was magnifico! As Italian Americans we always search out great Italian food when we travel. The pizza was amazing from the brick oven and our pastas were delicious! We will... More

Reviewed the restaurant over a year ago, and once again, the experience was top rate! The staff is very friendly and the food as always was very good. Highly recommend the veal parmigiana, and also love their caesar salad. The wait staff and owner always stop by to engage you in conversation and will do everything possible to make sure... More

My family and I went to La Fourno for dinner, and the food was very good. Dishes that were popular among family members included pasta putanesca, eggplant parmesan and linguini with clams. The owner was quite friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is accommodating to the appetiites of children, which was greatly appreciated. Nice neighborhood restaurant.
