new years day in Philadelphia is a crazy one and this place did ok considering

South Philadelphia is the home of the mummers and on new years day, the streets are packed with revelers in this area of the city. We had seen a movie and then decided time for a piece of pizza and so we went with friends here. The pizza is of the thin crust variety and we had a Pesto pizza... read more

We had a great dinner at La Fourno a few weeks ago. Atmosphere was wonderful upstairs, our waiter was on point with everything we needed, and of course the food was magnifico! As Italian Americans we always search out great Italian food when we travel. The pizza was amazing from the brick oven and our pastas were delicious! We will... More

Reviewed the restaurant over a year ago, and once again, the experience was top rate! The staff is very friendly and the food as always was very good. Highly recommend the veal parmigiana, and also love their caesar salad. The wait staff and owner always stop by to engage you in conversation and will do everything possible to make sure... More

My family and I went to La Fourno for dinner, and the food was very good. Dishes that were popular among family members included pasta putanesca, eggplant parmesan and linguini with clams. The owner was quite friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is accommodating to the appetiites of children, which was greatly appreciated. Nice neighborhood restaurant.

Took my team here on a locals recommendation - most of the group was from out of state so being able to show them South Street and have a delicious, fun meal was a bonus. La Fourno exceeded our expectations - the service was spot on, made us feel special and the entries were delicious - from eggplant parm, chix... More

My nephews and I always enjoy our meals here. It's not always because of the food though. The staff always goes out of their way to make it a real Italian experience for my nephews.

Stopped here for an impromptu dinner while visiting Philly and wandering around the Italian section. The whole experience was a delight, from the friendly and excellent service, the quality and taste of the food, and the intimate, non-rushed atmosphere! Especially recommend saving some room for dessert---had sfogliatelle for the first time and it was incredible. Sort of place I would... More

This restaurant has the best pizza around. The food is excellent, as is the service. Friendly and pleasant. All the restaurant needs is good Italian music by Connie Francis!

Authentic pizza doesn't have to be expensive, after all it's just dough, tomato and cheese. The pizza here costs about 7 or 8 dollars, but it tastes like it was made in Naples. Delicious. My cousin and I had the marinara pizza which was thin and crisp and perhaps one of the best pizzas this Italian if 68 years has... More

This restaurant was recommended by the place we're staying nearby. The food was tasty, came quickly, was priced reasonably, and the staff was attentive. I'll eat here again before I go home.
