While visiting The Barnes Foundation we asked directions to a different restaurant, and the person suggested that the Rose Tattoo (just 2 blocks away from where we were) would be a better choice. We are glad he made the suggestion. We started with a rich mushroom bisque that was creamy, loaded with large chunks of various mushrooms and had a... More

Inventive dishes, fresh ingredients. We had two different fish dishes and one was better than the next.

Been going to the Rose Tattoo for years, always consistently good food and service. Would recommend if you are in the Art Museum area!

Rose Tattoo is one of those restaurants that has been around for many years and I will go for months at a time without a meal there, but when I have a meal there I say, why has it been so long? Wonderful food, romantic setting, always comfortable.

Just recently sat at the bar for a few drinks and appetizers. Everything was delicious and the Rose Tattoo martini did not disappoint! We didn't eat a lot but we enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. Probably the best part was our bartender - she was exactly what you hope for from a bartender - very personable, funny, easy going, but... More

On a recent Saturday night, my wife and I met-up with visiting family that were staying in the Art Museum area for a Philadelphia event. My wife and I were left with the task of choosing a meeting place for drinks and dinner....hence....my wife was left with the task of finding a place for drinks and dinner. After reading some... This is a well established Philadelphia lunch and dinner spot, nicely located downtown, close to major museums and shopping. But it's just far enough from the heart of Center City that on-street parking is often to be found. (When it's not, there's a parking lot diagonally across from the restaurant.) The place is warm, inviting, charming. Many hanging, green plants.... More

We live in the Philadelphia area so we dine at The Rose Tattoo several times a year. It has special meaning for us since it is the place where my husband proposed to me 10 years ago. It is very suited to such an event since it is a very cozy and romantic, especially if you are seated in the... More

We started with Caesar Salad which was perfectly dressed. I selected the bolognese pasta which had complex flavors (beef and sausage) and a very light weight noodle. Healthy portion! My husband ordered the crab caked served over a spicy corn relish. Our friends split the scallops. Everyone was pleased. As is our tradition with our friends, we split a couple... More

We have eaten there twice following visits to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and also the Barnes Foundation, both located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway nearby. If you are looking to cap off your afternoon of culture with a lovely meal, this is the place. The ambience is very unusual and inviting -- lots of green vegetation, iron railing, and... More
