I think the place is one of the best around UPenn. Went there for brunch and dinner, first with a friend and then alone. The menu is quite varied and they have daily specials.

Entering the historic space, filled with dog references and decor, creates an anticipation that is upheld by the menu. Dishes offer creative touches, such as figs atop the sweet potatoes, an arugula pesto accompanying the swordfish, maple and bacon brussels sprouts. The waiter was very welcoming and helpful. Modifications were cheerfully accommodated, as were shared portions. Dinner was served promptly,... More

We hadn't been to the White Dog for several years and knew it had changed hands. It's nice to have a restaurant with locally sourced vegetables and meats Soups are divine. The salads were very good. I saw someone nearby who had to remove some of the turkey breast from her club sandwich. It was that big. Prices are a... More

I enjoyed a business dinner at White Dog Cafe. The atmosphere was unique and provided good material for small talk, with all the different dog decorations. I had appetizers and the crab cake dinner. The food was good, but not amazing. I would like to return and order some different things.

Wonderful food with a great variety both in terms of price and selection of food! Salads were incredible and no one at our table had anything left on their plate, which is usually a good sign! Nice wine list, some craft cocktails. Sat at the bar for a bit when we got there--friendly folks and good service. Would definitely eat... More

Took my daughter here for brunch for her 24th birthday. Loved the lively colors and the decoration. We love dogs, so this was an awesome place because it's so unique. Cute block with outdoor seating as well along other brownstone buildings. Our server was excellent. He was very attentive and took care of us. I guess he overheard us talking... More

On our second (and last) visit to this restaurant we experienced excellent service, good food, and excessive prices. The food is really nothing to write home about. Yes, it's very good but creativity and quality does not justify the high prices. Crab cakes were billed as being mostly jumbo lump crab; they were ok but certainly not jumbo lump crab.... More

Eat here regularly. Always consistent. High quality eats. Great omelettes and soups. The most outstanding dish I've had there is the pumpkin ravioli. If you see it on the menu, do not pass it up. Truffle fries are very tasty but sometimes are not always fresh and i've had to have them swap out for a fresh batch. Gets very... More

I love the little street this restaurant is on and the decor inside is pretty cool! I was out to dinner with a few colleagues and we really enjoyed it. The service was good and the food was excellent. It was a bit expensive, especially considering the portion size. I got the swordfish, which was accompanied with some veggies. It... More
