We enjoyed the various pasta entrees with eggplant, meatballs and chicken. The gnocchi entree was very good. The chocolate cake with caramel and goat cheesecake with figs were delicious. The bottle of Pelligrino was pricey. The service was very good.

Good location at the Inn at Penn. Food and service were good, but nothing special. The menu is very limited. Selection of wines by the glass were small and pricey. But the actual list of wines by the bottle was more extensive. Priced at the high end for what you get.

The food and wine were decent, but 15 dollars for a glass of wine was a little steep. Maybe they have better pricing during happy hour? Host and waitress were nice and service was fairly prompt.

We were 4 for dinner on a Monday night in June. Lucky for us it was a Monday because, as the locals tell, other nights are almost impossible to get in without a reservation. Flatbread, calamari and bruschetta appetizers were fresh and really tasty. Entrees included chicken, pasta bolonaise, pasta with seafood and salad. All again, hot, fresh and savory.... More

Since we had an early evening event at UPenn to go to and a family member with mobility issues I made an early dinner reservation at Penne. I later found out the event was an hour later than I'd thought but keep the reservation thinking it would make for a leisurely dinner. It was not extremely tension filled because of... More

Due to the late evening hour, we chose not to head out and look for somewhere to eat dinner. We enjoyed a very nice meal...one steak and two pasta dishes. Limited menu and pricey, but we did no planning ahead, so no surprise there. Goat cheese tortellini was delicious--would have been worth getting the entree, as the salad would have... More

Italian restaurant at the Hilton Inn at Penn. Nice atmosphere. Good food. Somewhat pricey. Worth checking out.

First of all, Penne does not have a very extensive dinner menu, so the three of us ended up ordering pasta. The dinner size capellini was $19 and I would not say it was a very large portion. If I wanted meatballs it would be another $5. And, $25 for two glasses of wine....? The waiter was very pleasant, but... More

Read the reviews which were generally average, so that's the mindset I went in with. Excellent service. Very good food. Had the "Fall Ceasar Salad" (odd as its spring), which was a nice twist on the average ceasar. Fresh, and bigger than expected for a side salad. I ordered Cappellini with meatballs and it was fabulous. I did send it... More

Great location as part of the Hilton Inn at Penn in middle of the Penn campus area. Always accommodating service and creative Italian cuisine.
