Came here last week randomly for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience. We were seated immediately even though we didn't have a reservation and our waiter came over as soon as we were seated. We ordered margaritas, empanadas, chicken soup and tostones bruschetta...as appetizers. For our entrees we got arroz con pollo and arroz con camarones. The portion sizes were filling and all of our dishes were flavorful.More

Went for dinner during Phila restaurant week. I thought I had a reservation from Open table, (they are listed but tables no longer available) so apparently they no longer participate. They are listed on the Phila restaurant week website for dinner, but they do not...participate in that either. Surprise 2nd red flag. Was surprised that they had plenty of open tables despite us suddenly not having a reservation- third red flag. Food was very bland - not representative of their culture in any way. Party of two and separate check for our friend party of one - each had MANDATORY 18% gratuity already printed and figured in (their loss as we usually tip 20%) - who puts mandatory tip for party of 1 or two? red flag 4. And no coffee refills on plain black coffee - this place is a loser. I think people come because the prices are cheap - well, you get what you pay for.More

My wife and I came here for a brunch reservation after Valentine’s Day. We loved the atmosphere and the food! She had the Argentinian Breakfast (the steak was really good). I had the Cuban breakfast. Being part Cuban, I felt like I was having back...in Miami at a Cuban restaurant. Although the Moro wasn’t anything special, overall I liked my meal. We also had café con leche and passion fruit smoothies, both of which we loved. We will definitely come back to try their dinner menu.More

This was our 2nd time dining at Mixto. The food is delicious and fairly priced. My husband and son had the steak tips and loved them. Very flavorful. I had the scallops. They were also very tasty, I only wished that I had a few...more. The place was crowded but the servers moved quickly so that food was served quickly. My only recommendation is to make the sangria less sweet. It was too sweet for me. Too much fruit juice not enough wine. Great place!More

SO GOOD. I’ve been hearing about this place (and their happy hour) for months so I was happy to finally visit with My cousins during restaurant week. Reservation was for 6pm; I arrived around 5:20 and was still seated within minutes (which was surprising but...hey, lucky me/us). Although the menu for restaurant week is shorter than the normal menu it’s still all delicious and portioned wonderfully (quality is good too). Their mojito is awesome. Service was great; I appreciated that everything was still up to par and we were treated with the same attentiveness and respect as someone ordering from the regular menu. I had the churrasco colombiano for my entree and pudin de pan for dessert. I also had their maduros and tostones bruschetta (not photographed).More

The paella is exquisite. Every year we go to French and Spanish Catalonia (Barcelona)where paella is the most popular dish, served by the best restaurants in this part of the world. Mixto’s is close to beating them all. What a discovery to find such quality...in Philadelphia, where we live. The service, however, makes what could be a wonderful evening a stressful experience. We were constantly interrupted by waiters wanting to take our bread away (5 minutes into the meal), wrapping our leftovers ( in the middle of the meal). My mojito disappeared before desert ( I was saving some of it to accompany my desert). We just felt harassed throughout the meal. American efficiency? There were empty tables around us. Nobody was waiting. So why this rush throughout diner. Time is such an important element of a good meal! Mixto has the decor, the food quality. So please, let your customers enjoy it without constantly harass them to clean up the table from the food they are in the process of enjoying. It might be done with the best intention, but it really deters from the enjoyment of the evening.More

We got lucky with a walk in here. Four of us were seated quickly in a two thirds full restaurant and within about ten minutes it was rammed full and buzzing. It took us a while to order because there were so many great things...on the menu. My husband had two starters and the rest of us ordered mains. All of our food arrived together and within ten minutes of ordering, perfectly cooked and super delicious. I particularly enjoyed my skirt steak with shrimp and veg and a very good margarita.More

From start to finish the staff was warm & welcoming. We’ve tried an incredible amount of Latin restaurants and always compare it to my husband’s family’s homemade Cuban cuisine. The food here exceeded our expectations! We sat outside on a warm fall day and enjoyed...the laid back ambiance of this part of the city. An easy walk from the theatres on Broad! Can’t wait to come back!More

We've been to Mixto 3 times now every time we are in Philadelphia. This restaurant offers good portions with tasty cuban fusion food. The service is always on point. Thank you for the good time.
