A place with a lot of history in Philadelphia, with a great service and really big portions. Some of the food was great, some was just ok.

We went to this restaurant in celebration of our anniversary. We were seated right away - that was nice. However, the waiter did not smile. He did not make eye contact. He quickly took the order - but no eye contact during the entire dinner. What a sad experience on such a happy occasion. The oldest Italian restaurant in the... More

Even though there weren't many vegetarian options I managed to find some really good pasta. The restaurant was very popular and crowded the Saturday night we were there, and it was a genuine and relaxed atmosphere to the place. It's not a fancy place, more a traditional Italian restaurant that seemed to cook the food with a lot of love.

The oldest Italian restaurant in the U.S. is worth the visit. Very quaint and cozy, food was delicious. Veal Parmesan and cannoli cake was fabulous. Definitely worth the drive. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thought food was good and service was great. Wine selection was also great. Small tables but that is what makes it a nice restaurant

Ralph's does it old school and it's a great experience. We had a group of four and loved everything. Antipasto was great for sharing. The long hots were killer hot. Our entrees - veal parmesan, homemade pappardelle, and 2 chicken dishes were all very good. The veal and pappardelle were the best. We also shared desserts - tiramisu and cannolli... More

Ralph's always is a go to place for us when in Philadelphia! They are consistently excellent ...I love the leftovers just as much as the original meal! The veal is so tender it melts in your mouth!

We were referred here by neighboring diners on a prior evening and it was very good, but truly, traditional dining with traditional recipes of Italy. We enjoyed the veal parm, lasagne and a seafood pasta. Everything was very good, but it's traditional. Nothing interesting here, but good. Tight space, good service, and I enjoyed getting a carafe of wine. I... More

Personally I was not impressed with Ralph's. We made a reservation for 10 ladies and they did seat us immediately but the service was very slow -- even though the upstairs dining room was quite empty. The food was so-so and I've definitely had better Italian food at many other restaurants. I ordered the sausage and peppers and the sausage... More

Oldest Italian restaurant in the US (open since 1900), rich in history and still hitting the mark on classic Italian-American dishes. Go for classic pasta dishes (lasagna, spaghetti & meatballs, gnocchi) and meat dishes (veal piccata, chicken parm) -- don't expect cutting edge or noveau cuisine. Highly recommend any veal dish -- so tender and well prepared. Red "gravy" (aka... More
